Indeed there are a few tables that are way too easy, but several that are not. Blade, Excalibur, Earth Defense are very challenging.
Hmm...which tables are you talking about? Most of them do involve advancing a "plot" and completing modes to achieve the final wizard mode just like modern...
Yea I have rearranged some machines before haha. Some floors are real slippery and they slide everywhere when you nudge. I'm a rough customer though, when I first play a new machine, I will intentionally tilt it to see how sensitive the operator has it set.
Hey who made you mayor of Funville? They are fun.
Agree 100%, I was going to say that earlier, but I feel like I'm always being negative about the physics engine so I'm trying to avoid mentioning it. More realistic physics is what would make the older EM's (and all the new ones too) more enjoyable.
How exciting man. I hope you plan on going portrait mode, trust me you're gonna want to. Portrait mode on PC is TPA at it's finest.
If you don't plan on building yourself, get one with the best nvidia card you can afford, and as much ram as possible. Don't worry about hard drive space.
Yes this is exactly what I'm talking about. If a machine is used for gambling, you can bet the owners will try everything to discourage cheating, and nudging may have been cheating in the early days. In some other places, not so much. That is what I was calling "house rules".
I believe that the...
I had a dream that I was at Flippers in North Carolina and all the tables were out of order. There was a kid sitting on Lord of the Rings eating beef jerky. Other things happened too but I can't remember.
Yea that's a good question. I would say to limit it, but the tilt mechanism is adjustable, so the owner could make it more sensitive, which could all but eliminate any nudging.
It's not cheating for me and you on the modern tables, but for someone else it may be. Like I said, it's house rules...
from The history of pinball:
.
I would assume that some players would object to nudging, and others would encourage it. I guess it's sort of a house rules type of thing. Even today, casual players think that nudging is cheating.
Hey let's hear it for hawk! who in the other thread he says he was born in the late 90's, yet he's here practically demanding some old EM's. Who says the younger players will only buy the new fangled flashy pinball machines with more wizard modes than Gandalf himself? They want Log Cabin on...
Hit ORBS drop targets in order every time. That's pretty much my main strategy because that gets 2 balls going, which leads to more orbs. Then I start shooting for the queen's chamber during multiball.
The physics have taken a step backwards on the past two releases. I really want to like Whodunnit, but it's too easy and floaty to be fun for me. So disappointing because I have never played this table in real life and I love the theme.
I'm losing my interest in these tables. They really need...
