Scrolling enabled or disabled, it's still noticeable. You can still see the stuttering even in when using the locked camera. If you have the plunge camera set to camera 2, you can still see the stutter as the camera pans from that view to the table view after launching the ball. I believe it's...
Indeed. That crazy stutter is still present on the iPad 4...sadly, it's starting to look as if this is one of those obscure bugs that never gets resolved.
You can safely delete previous versions of the table on your device. In fact, TPA will only use the newest table version on the device and ignore previous table versions. In the past, I did some testing with older versions of tables that I deliberately put on the device (by using iFunBox) to try...
I remember beta testing a PC game from WAY back called Millennium Auction. The betas were provided on CD-Rs that were individually burned & mailed to you via snail-mail. This was back when *one* blank CD-R was priced at ~$15-$20 (or maybe more, I forget). I also remember getting a patched Ultima...
The thing that baffles me about it is that it's only Whirlwind and the stutter only occurs on the iPad 4. The iPad mini and iPad 3 run the game flawlessly with no stuttering. And note that this is with a scrolling camera. It may be similar to what was/is going on with Cirqus Voltaire and High...
I have a feeling something funny is going on with Whirlwind. Out of all the tables I have (I own them all -except- for Harley), it's the worst performing & the only table with visible stutter running on the iPad 4 (iPad 3 and even iPad mini are fine. My bug reports are logged here). I hope they...
Agreed. The music fits the game perfectly...from the "Roonie" tune to the "Clown" end-of-game match tune, it's a joy to listen to and totally creates the correct atmosphere for the different sections of the game.
I agree with gooche77. I play on both the iPad 3 & 4 and love the sharpness and clarity. I had an iPad 2 previously and the graphics were good, but lacked the sharpness of the iPad 3/4 Retina display. The iPad mini may also be an option...it's not retina but that probably won't be a factor since...
The stuttering affects ONLY the Whirlwind table (which I've reloaded multiple times) and as I mentioned previously, it's not really noticeable when running with the locked camera view. All my testing is pretty much documented in this thread. If I unlock the camera, it's very noticeable (at least...
I've done a bit a experimenting with the iPad 4 and the Whirlwind table to see if I could get it to run as close to stutter-free as possible (like the iPad 3 runs) and found that disabling the following systematically seemed to reduce the stutter:
(not listed in any particular order)
1...
Agreed. My 7-year-old enables ball control on his mom's iPad (but NOT on mine) and plays with it enabled getting ridiculously high scores. He's allowed to enter his initials and the score is recorded locally to the table. We do NOT play logged in at all but I'll assume that (like Stuart...
Agreed 100%. CV needs bug fixing badly and has been in this condition this for as long as I can remember. Bug fixes should be top priority, not adding features which could create even more bugs on top of those.
