Post processing is always disabled in my tests so that is definitely not the issue. Apparently the "post processing" option will be removed beginning with the next upcoming update so that will rid us of that variable. It seems as though others with the iPad 4 are experiencing the same stuttering...
I realized I never actually introduced myself here so here it goes...
My real name is Sergey and I live in the Los Angeles, CA area. I'm a CNC (computer numerical control) programmer and technician and all around fix-it guy. I also beta test a few iOS apps and do some hardware product...
I can vouch for this. I recently got an iPad 4 and performance (at least on WW) is actually worse than with the iPad 3 (or even the iPhone 5). My testing details & findings are in the v1.2.11 iOS bug thread. Hopefully, this will be taken care of as my "upgrade" to the iPad 4 (from the iPad 3)...
Here are my findings. I restored the iPad 4 as a *new device* (not from a previous backup), put nothing else on the device except for TPA (both free and paid versions, same as from my backup) and tested with the same results as before: mild stuttering of WW on both the fly-over and in gameplay...
I've gotten to testing the iPad 3 and the results are shown below. As others have reported here, there is NO stutter on the iPad 3 running the same iOS version and TPA version as the iPad 4. So it appears to be an issue with how TPA runs on the iPad 4 or how the iPad 4 runs TPA (same...
I don't know about that. I like to hear only the table I'm playing in all it's sonic glory as if it was set up in my living room...not all sorts of other games going on in the background. I believe Pinball Hall of Fame for the PSP (at least) had this ambient arcade sound which I never cared for.
Agreed. The tables don't actually look any better with it enabled...or maybe I just don't have the tolerance level to plow through a game with it on.
Here's some more on my end...
Using the iPad 4 with TPA v1.2.11 and all the newest updated tables, I (gasp) turn post processing on and run through the tables, not actually playing them but just sitting at the fly-over for each table...
On all the tables, the fly-over is quite smooth and may...
I just now had the chance to check my iPhone 5 with TPA v1.2.11/WW table v3.0 and had zero stutter, portrait or landscape made no difference. The difference between the two in this test (iPhone 5/iPad 4) is the iOS version which is 6.1.0 on the iPhone 5 & 6.1.3 on the iPad 4. Since I just got...
Yes indeed. For those NOT seeing the stuttering running the same hardware, I'm assuming you have your camera locked. When I set my camera to locked, the table runs flawlessly. Maybe those that have the locked camera can temporarily turn scrolling on (yes, you probably hate the scrolling camera...
Just to note that I have absolutely nothing running in the background. I always close all apps that have been running before starting up another...it's pretty much a habit. And yes, I've also rebooted and power-cycled the iPad as well. When I revert back to the TPA v1.2.10/v2.0 WW table, all is...
Follow up...
*Note that the stuttering I'm seeing is when the table pans very fast, mostly at ball launch.
I reinstalled the previous v1.2.10 TPA along with the v2.0 WW table and the stuttering is pretty much gone...maybe because the Super Cellar Door Value (SCDV) indicator is not present in...
