Some would beg to differ with you. The PS3 version has it's own issues, notably flipper lag depending on the system/TV/controller used(etc.). Having a dedicated game controller & big screen TV is not really the definitive answer and may not appeal to all. Have a look at the "Flipper lag theory"...
@pinballchris:
I know you said you "cleared all active apps"...you might want to try a non-destructive reset (won't delete anything nor reset any settings).
Press and hold (& continue to hold) both the home and lock buttons on the iPad until you see the Apple logo (ignore any on-screen...
I agree. Definitely *not* 5 star. Fix the old lingering bugs (Circus Voltaire especially ;)) and fix (allow portrait mode) the UI...then many more 4 & 5 star reviews will be attainable.
Just an observation but the age groups are a little odd & may be skewing the results. They are currently:
0-10
10-20
20-30
30-40
40-50
50-60
60+
If your age is say 40, you fall into two categories: 30-40 & 40-50. Since I am 50, I fall into two categories (40-50 & 50-60) but chose the older...
As was mentioned by someone else here as well, I played close to zero pinball in the arcades way back. For me it was all about Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Ms. Pac Man and all the other video games that sucked up my quarters. Pinball Hall of Fame, The Pinball Arcade and Zen got me playing...
Thanks Sean. I think I've found a pic of the barrier...
The white, two-post, two rubber band bumper/barrier between the red and orange pop bumpers, correct?
Here's a little tip to get the screen from portrait to landscape a bit easier. Rather than rotate the screen clockwise/counterclockwise vertically to get to portrait, simply lay the screen flat horizontally (tip the top of the iPad toward your knees/feet, pivoting at the bottom edge), then lift...
Have you tried resetting the device? Not power-cycling but resetting...
Press *& hold* both the Home & the lock screen/power button until you see the Apple logo (ignore any other messages you may see). You will NOT lose any data, music, apps or user settings with this type of reset.
Also try...
If you've started a game, you won't be able to switch between portrait/landscape until you quit the game. At the game's main screen, either rotate the iPad (if lock switch is off) from landscape to portrait a few times or use the switch a few times. I don't have any issue switching between the...
On the PS3, I believe the tables are all embedded in the main program. When you download it or update it, you automatically get all the updated tables available for the PS3. Purchasing a table merely unlocks the table (as mentioned, already in the program) for full use in the game.
I'll be adding one more iPhone 4 to the current mix in the next couple of days (5 iDevices total) so I'll see how it goes (the theoretical problem supposedly comes with *more than* 5 iDevices). I currently have the iPad 2, iPad 3, iPhone 4 & iPhone 5 on the same AppleID.
The new interface itself is fine for me...yes, it could be better. The graphics are adequate and do the job although sadly with more screen taps than are needed to jump right into a table. Yes, like others here, I'd much rather have a screen of direct-access icons but if that would be a problem...
I believe I've found the trick. Rotate the screen to portrait (whichever way, side switch or physical rotation) *at the table's menu*. It won't rotate to portrait *if you've started a game* and it's in landscape. If you use the side switch, you may have to toggle it a couple of times to get it...
