    Why don't players like Gorgar?

Love this table and love Gorgar. Not at all Satanic, unless you're counting the sympathetic portrayal in South Park. Could you imagine doing battle against Satan and having him whimper "You hurt Satan". I can't.

How does Phantom Flip work? (General MB question)

When the flippers move, how many intermediate steps do they go through, and are there millisecond gaps between those steps? Almost every session I feel like the ball might've moved through a flipper when I miss a slap save. In some other cases, it seems like it shouldn't even be possible to...

Alien Crush and other early video pinball games

I played both Alien Crush and Devil's Crush on the Wii, which re-released them about 5 years ago. They also released a newer Alien Crush Returns, which wasn't bad as a new edition in that style. Loved eight ball deluxe, both the real one and the PC emulation that came out in the 90's. Before...

    Oh my gorgar! Those outlanes

Actually, I just tried a game on my iPod, and found I like it better than the iPad since I can sometimes get it to nudge. On iOS, the only option that seems to work is swiping, and that requires reaching to the to the top of the screen - easy to do quickly on a smaller screen. iPad nudging...

    Oh my gorgar! Those outlanes

I quickly put this game on my list of ones to return to once available on a platform that supports nudging (iOS still does not, unfortunately).

Jackbot Northwest Pinball Final via Widescreen display. Lighting FS should aim for?

Bride of Pinbot has a really neat light show too, but it just doesn't come through in TPA. I think those kinds of lighting effects must be pretty difficult to simulate. For instance, in Gorgar, you can clearly see lamps behind the rubbers near the snake pit. When you hit the pit, the plastics...

    iOS - Bug Camera Locked

Which makes me wonder again why there can't be a little more play testing before these are released. It's always great when these tables are released - but finding game-breaking bugs within 10 minutes of play is getting pretty annoying.

    iOS v1.1.2 changes

That makes sense - used to play this a lot in the arcade, but can't remember how it worked back then. I did think it seemed really odd that there was such a long sequence to open the gate from the top (light and hit rollover lane) for something that almost immediately reversed before you could...

    iOS v1.1.2 changes

Was the behavior of the re-entry gate on Black Hole changed on purpose, or is that a new bug (fact that it doesn't close when bumpers are hit)? Instructions still say it's supposed to close, so I assume this is a bug that happens to make the game much easier.

    Pokemon Pinball

Loved both Metroid Pinball and the Pokemon Pinballs. Can't remember which, but some of the Pokemon tables just went on forever - way to easy to just keep lighting ball saver over and over.

iOS - Bug iOS VER 1.1.1 Bugs

Not a bug, but I find it pretty hard to see what steps are lit when the ball is in the left plunger on Funhouse. Maybe an on-screen text message similar to the "Gate Open/Closed" on Black Hole would be useful here.

    Black Hole Tactics and Strategies

Here's my strategy (from another thread about a month ago, but I'll add a bit): first goal is to light upper capture hole by completing the spot targets. Can hit at least some of these from all flippers. If ball is on right flipper and only lower spot targets needed, can hit to capture hole and...

    Official Twilight Zone News

The update for the $25 tier says anyone who pledges $25 or more will get the custom ball, and the $50 tier says anyone at $50 or more gets the wallpaper and tournament entry (which was already mentioned in $100 tier description anyway).

    200/200 Club

I think frog frenzy is much tougher, but I disagree that you'd be focusing solely on that objective. You just need a really good game with lots of super jackpots - which is what you'd normally want anyway. For harem, I mostly ignore it and often won't get it even in very high-scoring games...

Is This Really What The VP/FP Community Has Come To???

We don't know how the 360 will do with updates, since there haven't been any yet. On iOS, each of the three versions of Black Hole have been less playable than the one it replaced. With some very obvious bugs (evident in 1-2 minutes of play) still present and new ones added. The current 360...

iOS - Bug iOS VER 1.1.1 Bugs

Had typical issues on CV - ball passes through flipper, two balls in plunger lane at start of game, camera moving to the wrong place, like to plunger during multiball which disables the flippers, etc. Honestly, the one thing that annoyed me the most though is that it won't keep the HUD turned...

    DLC Release Date

Today I did something I haven't done in years and played hookey from work to find some local pinball machines, all Stern of course. Tron wasn't that bad, not too impressed with the others (big buck hunter pro, rolling stones, transformers). Come on, Farsight, don't leave me strung out, man, I...

    200/200 Club

It's amazing how bad I am at completing missions on Ripley's. Except Asia - I can do that almost every time, usually in a few seconds. Closest I got was "RIPLEY_" and three of those six letters were from Asia, and I think one more was from an amazing event. Getting much better at Australia...

Latest NEWS And INFORMATION On FarSight Studios' The Pinball Arcade

Have no idea why Microsoft rejected it, but I wonder if it had anything to do with the table lighting. I'd personally play these either way, but I can see why Microsoft wouldn't want people saying "Wow, this game looks so much better on the PS3!".

Marvel Pinball - The Avengers Table Video

Okay, just reread that, and should probably mention that I'm somewhat kidding about the physics. Definitely inferior to TPA, but not really much of a problem. The ball does spin like a mother, though. I think they should check with WB/Looney Tunes to see if they can license the Tasmanian...
