Got you - I had the side part in the cab builders kit, but didn't use it because it needed to be fitted like t-moulding and I didn't have the tools to cut a channel out. So for me I have the part you have plus chrome side rails and lockdown bar holding the glass. I also put some baton under...
I bought the Virtuapin cab builders kit and did use the H channel. It does allow the glass to nicely sit in it at the back of the cab (you can faintly see it in my picture above) There might be a way of supporting the glass without it but for about $10 might be worth getting one. Maybe others...
Here are details of my Vishay (ignore spelling in screenshot :)). The cutout is smaller than the the full DMD unit size. I made it like that so that it sits inside tightly. You should probably not cut that part until you get the DMD, but at least you have a rough idea.
You will also need a...
I can vouch for what Jeff said - the VP tables are outstanding nowadays and have they have working backglasses, separate movable DMD (or real one) if needed. Many tables use stripped playfield scan which are done in HD on a professional scanner. The beauty as well is you can play many tables...
Initially I had an old 4:3 19" monitor for 3rd screen DMD, however most of it was hidden. Therefore the smaller the better, so a secondhand 15" would even suffice. I think some people have use those small USB powered screens but I am not sure how well they work.
I would imagine that Ask would wait a week or so after releasing it to Android to allow issues to be found and resolved first - eg : in first 1/2 days 3.51 was released. That is probably better for you iOs guys otherwise you would have to wait a long time for another version to pass through the...
Sounds like good progress. Looking forward to the video.
Are you going for an iPac, Ledwiz, Plunger kit, or undecided yet? One thing worth considering is flipper feedback (or at least leave space in your design to add contactors later). I added it as an after thought and it was one of the...
Where you are really lucky in the US is you can buy the cabinet flat packs from Virtuapin which are incredibly good value from what I can see. When I built my cab in 2010/11 I had no clue about carpentry, and I would have snapped up a flat pack if available. Even today 4 years on I still...
Fantastic update and love the backglass reflections. Works smoothly even on my old Nexus 7 2012. I also created a camera hybrid view so it is nice to sometimes use this some timed and see the BG and table together.
I agree that some tables are not dark enough now, so if we can go darker that...
If I had a stick of dynamite I could quite easily shove it in Bad Cats cab, and let Bowflex light the fuse. The only other table I dislilke that much is Going' Nuts
I am not trying to be controversial (promise!) but there something about it.
I know some people mount on the surface, but I agree with Jamman that sinking it a few inches below the surface adds a feeling of depth.
My cab actually has the monitor sloped like a real pin, so higher at the back than at the front. The way I worked out the best angle was to put a couple of...
I was going to say get some decent tools for the job, but..... :).
Great video - will be great for anyone else planning a build.
You might have read this already, but when you finally mount the TV in the cabinet remember to have the bottom of the TV on the left hand side, as VP FS tables...
I think Badcats is annoying as well as boring. Admittedly not as bad as Goin' Nuts but pretty close. I actually deleted it from my cabinet.
Some EMs do have multi ball. Balls-a-Poppin has at least a 9-ball multiball.
lol - They do love to sell those extended warranties which cost half the price of the TV. If you didn't get the TV yet, just an idea is to take a USB stick with a HD sized image rotated (but viewed in landscape on a TV), and plug it into the TV to see what it looks like. You will need to...
