The way I see it...there's TPA and IRL. In IRL, I'm nudging and bumping and swinging the end of the machine. It may take more than a few tokens, or quarters, to get it right. Once I get it right, I can do well. But that's the whole purpose. With TPA, I don't nudge, and that's by choice. Partly...
Crawley, great pic of Bally's Eight Ball...yes, that's my favorite table! I helped out on KS as well, glad to do so, too. Glad to see the results, you've taken some great shots. Can't wait to see more!
It's happened to me playing several games. Centaur, Twilight Zone, and a couple more I can't remember. It happens so infrequently that I chalked it up to an odd occurrence. I have yet to duplicate it twice on a table, but now that I know others have had this happen, I'll look out for if.
Here in the south, our pinball isn't limited to just bars OR the kiddie places like Chuckie Cheese. Taco Mac comes to mind. Yes, they do sell beer, but not in a "bar" atmosphere. There are no neighborhood bars like they have in the great white North. We also have few "trendy" places where people...
* There's an ongoing debate among many sport fans whether NASCAR should be considered a sport. Each side, of course, feels it has the facts that proves their case beyond a shadow of a doubt. One point says that a sport requires conditioning, like lifting weights or running or any type of...
Sadly, I tried to get The Wife into playin' the silver ball, but she developed an affection for a video game, "Death Race 2000". The object of the game was to run over as many people as possible, and leave little crosses on the screen. I married her anyway.
I went to YouTube, didn't know you had stuff there. On the first video up, "Attack From Mars", I learned something right out of the gate! I never thought to let a ball coming out of "Stroke Of Luck" bounce off the left flipper and catch it with the right! I always back-hand it up and around to...
You are going thru a tough time. I can tell you form experience that seventeen isn't easy. I can also tell you there something on the other side.
Let me ask you some questions. Do you like sports? Find a league around where you live that has softball, basketball or flag football. Even if you...
You know, hacking the leaderboards are like getting to the end of the Internet. OK, you've done it. Now what? There isn't a trophy. There's no check. Doesn't the novelty wear off? Why not do like Matthew Brodrick did in "WarGames"? Almost start World War Three? Now THAT would get you some...
OD- I always enjoy reading your blog! I've never played in a pinball league, probably because of people like the kid that quit. I've played in chess tourneys, and made friends. Once every great while, I'd do OK, but I usually left the tourney with friends more than anything else! I can't wait to...
Thank you for both! There was a post about someone saying that he wasn't playing as much TPA, and wondered if it was normal. I think it is, I think I've hit the Wall, because I don't play as much as I did!
