That's complete rubbish. They're still making, selling, supporting, and promoting the Wii U, and creating software for it. All they've done is announce a release date (March 2017) for the NX, a console/platform that nobody outside of Nintendo knows anything about.
Microsoft is still supporting the XBox 360, and Sony is still supporting the PS3, and it's been more than 2 years since their respective successors have been on the market and established themselves. Why on earth would Nintendo no longer support a console that is still their current-gen offering?!
Eldar is correct... talking of end of support is now mid 2018. Sales, production continue still, now they have over 15 million sold. We are nearing the end, but there is at least 2 years before official end of life, and now e-shop sales are still quite strong. Look at TPA sales And it depends on what you mean by "support"... If I am not mistaken, the Wii Mini (which has no wifi) just ended production recently, although online was all but cut off mid 2014.
