Yeah, the SkyRim 1.6 update was 27MB - Apparently it's how Microsoft class it as either a "Patch" or "Extra Content". (Happy to be corrected if that's not the case).

Xbox requirements for an XBLA title, as they've been told to us, are that the updates be 4 megs or smaller. They are making an exception for us, as the update we have submitted is 14 megs.

Free app? They got my 5 bucks when they said hello.

I paid more than that through the free app by now. There are 2 versions of TPA, one for 0.79 with TOTAN and one free one without any tables. The second one doesnt have the new tables yet.

I love the smell of fresh new tables. Gorgar is here at last! Black hole had a nicelittle make-over as well. Thank you farsight, you did it again. Cheers!

What'd they do to BH? After months of ignoring it, I just started to really get into it, so I wouldn't notice the changes.

I'm pretty sure that FarSight will shoot for The Lord of the Rings next year since it runs on a modified Whitestar MPU just like Ripley's. We'll have to help with licensing costs of course which I have no problem with.

Oh, man, I'd like that. LOTR has the distinction of being the only real-world pinball I've actually become a fan of recently, that is, in the last decade.

As I've said before, though, I do wonder how many times they can pass the hat for licensing fees. I've been assuming that beyond TZ, ST:TNG and Addams Family, there aren't many games with sufficient pull to make it work. Indiana Jones, maybe, given the love for it I see around (I'm not familiar with it myself). Star Wars might pull in Star Wars fans, though it's not the most-loved pinball. Doctor Who, probably only in my dreams.

New tables are awesome just like all the previous releases. Looks like FS did a great job with these and fixed up some of the others a little too. Love what you guys are doing! Keep up the great work!

Wow that would would be really cool Played the real table a few months back. It is indeed a great table lots of different missions and Fellowship multiball. Let us know when we can start donating for this table.

This table is doable, but FarSight needs to start tracking down all the licenses needed for LOTR, if they haven't done so already.

Amen to that Judi. They really are super. There goes my weekend. It's like having Christmas every month! They are building the arcade I always dreamed of having IRL (but could never afford).

I think that depends upon the cost for the licenses versus what any increased sales are. If the inclusion of licensed tables boosts the profile of Pinball Arcade and increases sales generally, then it's likely they wouldn't need to pass the hat for as big a sum or at all. It's all down to how many closet pinball fans there are out there and whether they can draw in newcomers.

My nine-year old daughter likes to watch me play (she was quite excited when I almost completed Cirqus Voltaire) so I'm doing my part to try to induct another generation!

Glad you are enjoying it!
Not to bash Farsight, but I'm starting to dread DLC download time of the month personally with my older Android.
I just start wondering, what's going to be affected this time?

Pin-wiz, since you seem to have prior knowledge of things, have you heard when the mechanical sounds overhaul is going to happen? It doesn't sound like it was included in this new update (Android). Just curious.

And not all licenses are prohibitively expensive; some like RBION and Monster Bash (Universal Monsters) apparently don't require any donation campaign at all. I suppose the success of these Kickstarters could have the perverse effect of making rights-holders think they can hold out for more than they really can, though TPA is probably too obscure to pay much attention to for most of them.

I don't think that's a risk unless the license holder is an individual. I know the Mystery Science Theater 3000 DVD releases are working around issues like that where there's someone who happens to own rights to some obscure B-movies no one would care about if it wasn't for MST3K, so they're potentially thinking they could cash in, but ultimately it's going to be some money or no money so I think that can be worked around with a dose of reality.

In the case of pinball tables the license-holders are more likely going to be film studios and the like who aren't going to mess them about. Even if an actor or music rights-holder is being difficult Farsight can just say "no thanks" without crushing the hopes of millions because they have a massive catalogue of other tables to choose to recreate instead.
