A scorecard for TPA

******
  • Current version: 6.0 (S05 DLC10 - TX-S) - Changelog
  • Leaderboard Data: June 26th, 2016
  • Differential Data: May 29th, 2016
  • Invitro's Top 100: June 12th, 2016

>>>>> ODS format: The Pinball Arcade Scorecard 6.0 <<<<<

- It's an .ods file so you will need LibreOffice Calc (installer or portable version ) to open it.

- Minimum version required: LibreOffice 5.0.2.

- Filled out Scorecard example here.

******
As Farsight kindly provides now the leaderboards master data, the TPA Scorecard includes a database with the Top 2000 for each table. So, just enter precisely your ID and the whole scorecard will be automatically filled out.
******

Hi pinball fans,

With the growing numbers of tables, it becomes hard to have an overview on what you achieved in TPA (goals, HOF points, etc.). Or just to easily see all your highscores and rankings at a glance (EDIT: it's now possible on the official website, but without the statistics)

So I made this editable scorecard (ODS format).

******

To fill out the scorecard, just enter precisely your player ID on the Overview page. Calc will:

- Extract each score, rank, date for each table on which you are at least ranked in the top 2000
- Make a diff. with your previous rankings
- Calculate your HOF scores, Average Ranking, and some other statistics.
- Calculate Invitro Top 100 current points (total, per table, and diff. with the latest top available)

The screenshots below can take a while to be displayed because of a crappy ISP cloud. Refresh the page if needed.

Overview page:

Let's see how a season card looks:

Empty:

And filled out:

There's also a tooltip for each field (HOF 1000 points required scores and wizards goals are listed for each table).

The VS button for each table redirects to a mini-leaderboard on which you can compare your score with any score you want (using the "VS Rank" cell), a given player ID (using the "VS ID" rank), and the score needed to access the next Top.

Score Comparison page:

2afhm4i.jpg

Stats page: Displays TPA leaderboards statistics by devices (overall and per season, Top 2000 and Top 100 for both)

25ibu6s.jpg

Invitro's Top 100 page: Shows if you're ranked in Invitro's Top 100, and allows for comparison with your current Top 100 points (available on the Overview page)

----------------------------------------------------------------

**********************
*How to update the ODS file*
**********************

A new version of the scorecard will be released for each new table, with the database up-to-date and updated differential data.

When a new Scorecard in ODS format is available, just enter your ID again on the Overview page, your updated highscores and ranks will be displayed, and if you filled in the Wizard Goals fields, simply copy/paste the [Goal Status] column of each season (shift+click to select) into the new scorecard. That's all!

----------------------------------------------------------------

************
*How to share *
************

Once filled out, you can share the file online (via your forum signature for example), by converting the ODS file into PDF with Calc ("File" > "Export as PDF").

1)Google Viewer

Here's mine for example.

Use this adress to share:
Code:
https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=[I][your file path][/I]

You can add this at the end for a direct full screen:
Code:
https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=[I][your file path][/I][COLOR="#FF0000"]&embedded=true[/COLOR]

2) Dropbox (if you don't have a FTP)

Once the file is published, you can share the dropbox link (the display is meh via dropbox interface)

Code:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hz5uo9aj425gq7z/TPA_Scorecard_Full.pdf?dl=0

But you can also share the dropbox file via Google Viewer for a better display:

- Your dropbox share link will be like this

Code:
[COLOR="#FF0000"]https://www.dropbox.com[/COLOR]/s/hz5uo9aj425gq7z/TPA_Scorecard_Full.pdf?dl=0

- Change the red part by:

Code:
[COLOR="#0000CD"]https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com[/COLOR]/s/hz5uo9aj425gq7z/TPA_Scorecard_Full.pdf?dl=0[COLOR="#0000CD"]&embedded=true[/COLOR]

----------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you'll enjoy this!

I'd be all over it if it could automatically import scores somehow, either from Farsight online or TPA's local save file. I have a hard time seeing all the manual data entry being worthwhile, but certainly appreciate the effort.

Yep... That's the major flaw. But once it's filled... it's filled (unless you beat yours highscores every week-end :p). And if there's a new version of the scorecard, you can import/export easily all datas with PDF X-Change (no need to fill all again, each field has an unique ID)

The main purpose is to have an overview of your scores, rankings, goal status, and HOF points.

Because FS official leaderboards are clumsy to navigate (both in web and in-game) in my opinion.

Yes, the rankings are not up to date, but it's just an hint about your score quality (for my part, it's OK when i'm in top 500, I 'm happy when I reach the top 200, perfect when I'm in top 100, and an total achievement when I reach the top 50).

And I notice on this forum, that a lot people put their highscores on their forum signatures.

So I thought some people would be interested.;)

Great idea. What WOULD be handy would be if Farsight implemented this kind of thing into the game itself! Take note FS.

Thanks.

Maybe leaderboards and statistics would be displayed in a more convenient way with the new incoming UI. That can't be worse than now. :p

They also need to fix their website leaderboards. Or at least make navigation more obvious. Someone correct me if wrong, but they only way you can view the high scores for a given table is to refresh the page until it comes up by luck.

???

There are two buttons: "previous" and "next table" on the flash frame to navigate (above "weekly, monthly and all time" buttons). You can also click on a ball on the left. http://www.pinballarcade.com/Leaderboards/

But it's not convenient too, as you have to scroll one by one to find the table you want (a little bit quicker with a ball). And then, scroll each page one by one to reach your score.

Eek.

That navigation is rather stupidly coded, it depends on a Flash plugin even though the navigation buttons and score table aren't Flash themselves. You need to have Flash working and enabled for it, or else be on a browser like iPad Safari where you'll get a plain HTML version instead of the Flash rubbish.

Ah, it doesn't appear to work on Firefox on Linux, which isn't really a surprise as not a lot does. Noted.

I added an Overview page that allows to have a quick view of the HOF points, Wizard goals, and average ranks for each or all seasons.

Here's the blank PDF for all the seasons + overview: link in the first post.

Looks like this when filled out.

- All the images are now clikable to navigate quicker between the overview and the season details.
- Added the number of wizard goals for the goal status (Wizard 1/5, Wizard 2/5 and so on).
- Added a little help note on the first page.

Help please!

Once you have completed the form, you can share it online (via your forum signature for example).

Most of the web navigators have a PDF reader built-in now (pdf.js Viewer in Firefox 24 -don't know for older versions- or Chrome PDF viewer... in Chrome)

Hi Tann,

I've obtained and completed the scorecards using PDF-XChange, but don't understand pdf. generally or embedding, file paths and the like, and don't understand what I need to put into my signature to share it from there? Could you (or any readers) give me a walk through of that process ; I struggle with even the most basic of computer tech.

I'm using Firefox 32.0.2

Many thanks for making the scorecard, it looks great!

Yeah, sure.

First, read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_hosting_service (just the intro and the first paragraph "Personal File Storage").

I would have only two questions:

- Do you have an FTP account provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?

Or

- Do you have a Google account? (in which case you can use Google Drive to host your file). Or an account on some File Hosting Website? (e.g. DropBox, Mediafire... here's a list)

To share your pdf, you have to publish it on a web server, in order to obtain a web link (for example http://www.awebsitename.com/myscorecard.pdf).

http://www.awebsitename.com
is the web domain.
myscorecard.pdf is your file, hosted on the web domain.

Then, the easiest way to share a pdf file (so everybody can read it online) is via Google Viewer (https://docs.google.com/viewer): you paste your link and clik on generate. You will have something like:

Code:
https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://www.awebsitename.com/myscorecard.pdf

At last, you go in your forum profile and edit your signature by using the BBcode: [code]['url'=https://docs...name.com/myscorecard.pdf]Jame's TPA Scorecard[/code]

I hope it's easy to understand. :p (that's not as hard as it sounds! ^^)

I do now. Virgin Media supply it.

I had trouble with Google Drive, couldn't make the codes it gave work. It was one error after another, so I tried the Virgin Cloud generated link I was putting into GD, directly into the signature instead, and finally realised the link VC generated didn't (seem to) need any further conversion (?) I can read it from clicking the signature link, but can others?

I hope it's easy to understand. (that's not as hard as it sounds! ^^)

Partially understood at least, but then I am a complete ass with these things  I think I've muddled through? Can you confirm I have made a readable link in my signature?

I really need and appreciate the help :D thank you.
