There is a tendency for opinions on these forums to slowly moprh into "Farsight said" facts. I think this is one of them.

No, not really, some people just don't know how to read. This issue has been asked and answered many, many times on the FB page. However, for your sake, I asked one more time...and here was the expected response:

Question:

I got a question for you.

From the Forum:

"Does anyone remember what the issues are with getting Roadshow? They'd only have to negotiate with Carlene Carter...I can't see the license for that song and her dialogue costing very much. Of course, as much trouble as they had with Lloyd, maybe it IS a significant barrier..."

Is there any truth to this, or have you guys simply not gotten around to doing this table yet?

Answer:

We haven't gotten around to it yet. If we do decide to make it, we don't perceive a lot of trouble on that end.

I know people are fans of Roadshow but if they add it I hope it isnt for a while. They need to space out the dummy head tables, Funhouse and now Party Zone. I am not a fan of it, maybe it is a cool effect in real life to see the heads moving around but on video the effect is lost so it sort of takes away from the table for me.

I have heard people compare earthshaker and whirlwind. Is earthshaker the better table? I am not a big fan of whirlwind. I like the unique effect the spinning wheels have on the ball but the rest of the table layout doesn't play so well in my opinion. Still not sure what that elevated box is supposed to be or what I am supposed to do with it.

Just because I'm bored, and someone asked about whether or not there enough tables left to recreate. These are ones that haven't been done. Based on Pinside's top 100 list. I realise there are a bunch of licensed tables. But it's just to get an idea. Also duplicates are being left out.

Lloyd is going to be much more problematic, I image. As an actor he has little say in how cheap his rights can go for believe it or not. First there is a union standard and then there is his agency and his management. Someone like Lloyd would have a top agency and as iconic as his films have been the agency and his management are probably get bullish about his rights.
The music industry is completely different. What matters is who is the owner of the recording, not who sings it. The owner of the recording controls the recordings use. The owner is rarely the singer, it could be the producer, songwriter, lawyers. The singer has no say, their song gets played and sold every year in thousands of ways but the singer does not own the song or recording of their voice. They get paid, sometimes, but it is the songwriter or whoever bought or inherited the rights that owns the songs, no matter who sang on it. The owner can work out whatever deal they like. A person has a right to recreations of their likeness but not to the use of a recording they have made. It would be a nightmare if every song or film needed every one involved before they could sell the recording for use.

Answer:

Apologies, I was meaning that the idea that it would be a big barrier is a misconception. Reading it back it does seem like I was saying the opposite.

Agreed. Both Sharkey's Shootout and Eight Ball Deluxe belong in TPA.Would be wonderful if one were to already make it into Season 4.

I think Eight Ball Deluxe would appear first (maybe this season as an EM even if it's not one).
Don't really think Sharkey's Shootout is in FS plans unfortunately.

I have a feeling season 4 will be the most amazing season yet! It's off to such a great start with the licensed POTO and Addams Family on the way. I actually love the colorful art and look and feel of Dr. Dude, so although I've never played Party Zone I'm excited to see that on the way. It's got that same cool look and a DMD this time, can't wait to see what that's gonna be like. 7 more mystery tables this season. Now that we have the inclusion of Data East i speculate we will probably get at least a couple more of those this season. Researching the Data East pinball library I noticed Mad Magazine almost had a table made by Data East in 1993 but it was canceled due to money issues with Data East. That makes me wonder allot about this unreleased Mad table that was actually designed and ready to manufacture before being cancelled. I can't find any play-field images but just the Mad branding makes me imagine all kinds of fun stuff and cool animations like spy vs spy on the dmd. Wouldn't it be sweet if farsight pulled that out of nowhere and gave it to us? that's probably too much to expect. oh well i can dream.

...actually I'll bet they re-branded that Mad Magazine table into something else. It's the same designer (Joe Kaminkow) as Jurassic Park and WWF Royal Rumble. For all we know WWF is a re-themed Mad.

I wouldn't boast about POTO just yet..
The Mac version is very buggy, freezes the Mac and only way to recover the system is to pull the AC plug...
The Enter Initials screen is Locked On, and the game goes into the 4 Player mode..

Waiting for the patch fix...

I bought the season pass anyway and hope I don't regret it. I don't think I will, but I'm not crazy about POTO. Busy layout, annoying screams, and I just don't do well on it.

I also pledged for TAF, so I suppose I'm paying twice for the table? What happened with TZ and T2, did people get a couple bucks back or something?
