Hey, hopefully I'm wrong. But since EA is responsible for The Simpsons Tapped Out, I'd have to think that they have the same kind of video game licensing exclusivity for The Simpsons that they do with Monopoly.

I actually inquired about EA/Origins Tapped Out Simpsons license and their ability to get a license from Fox for both tables and according to them it's a non-issue. They also said they would love to see it on TPA as well, but everyone wants a certain creepy family to happen more than this. Bah.. :p

They apparently think old pinball tables and a tapping game are different enough to be their own entity.
Also, if you recall, Konami was able to re-release their old Simpsons Arcade game on PSN and XB Live a couple years ago.
This should be no different, or even less similar to a tapping game.

PS, I'm not a fan of EA either.

Edit#1
I am however worried about someone like Zen Studios getting it before Farsight. They have no problems making a new table based on a franchise already existing in the real pinball world.. I.E. Star Wars Pinball, and some Marvel tables. They could lock those up for quite a while.

Edit#2 (last edit)...
In addition, as I've said before, the time is perfect for the Simspons tables. The show has gained some steam in last year or so with the LEGO episode and the Family Guy/Simspons cross-over episode is going to be a big deal. Not to mention The Simspons Tapped Out being a number one Android and iOS seller. This would help Farsight more than hurt them. I really wish they were doing a the Simspons Kickstarter before TAF, but all they heard was overwhelming requests for TAF

I've said it a million times, but TPA already has a ton of monster/macabre tables (Haunted House, Elvira and the Party Monsters, Scared Stiff, Class of 1812, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Monster Bash, Gorgar, Centaur,) but not a single, fun cartoon based table.

Simpsons and LOTR are very similar, must-have tables. The Simpsons however, is infinitely more feasible to license, so I'm hoping for that one. LOTR has nine actor licenses on the backglass alone! Not that Billy Boyd would charge much... ha.

I'd like that as well. I was only able to play a LOTR table once before the arcade here closed down. It seemed like a nice design.

Maybe Farsight could go all in for a "Triple Cartoon Pack" Kickstarter with both Simpsons and a Family Guy. ;)

I've played it in real life as well, a local place opened with all you can play for 10 dollars and he has this one. It's a real blast to play! Definitely my favorite of the modern Sterns I've played (I've played this and Elvis, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, and Metallica). The theme is used incredibly well and the gameplay is a lot of fun too.

I too think a digital version of it is probably an impossibility.
