To be honest, I don't mind the Gottlieb tables. Black Hole was the table that really got me into playing TPA (I like it the most from the start) and they have a charm to them in some way I can't really explain
It's nice to see 90s Gottys being included. That era of Gottlieb seems to often be forgotten, but I'm sure there are lots of great machines there. Lots of their machines from that era seem to have a kind of cartoon strip style that gives them a very playful feel compared to Williams and Bally.
They really should go for Stargate. It's one of the best pins I've ever played. Unfortunately, it's a license that isn't all that popular (the series has a lot of fans, but the pin is based on the less popular movie), so a kickstarter probably wouldn't be as successful as the previous ones.
There are a lot of Gottlieb fans out there, though. I think we should embrace TPA as a platform for all pinball fans and accept the tables we don't like will be ones that others have been waiting ages for. Unless it is a real stinker...
I'm not trying to be a smart ass. Teed Off ranks really low on both Pinside and IPDB.
They have fans of the EMs. I'm one of them. Slick Chick would make me very happy.
El Dorado ranks high on EM lists. I think City of Gold is a SS sequel, maybe? So ill reserve judgement. And as I've said I think 1812 looks cool.
You had me at Stargate!
Iron Man or Metallica?? Only Stern I ever owned was Spider-Man, great game but playing on a Stern is totally different (and I didn't mean that in a positive way) then a Bally/Williams table. Same goes for Data East, they also play very different, not bad, but different. Sega I don't like to play at all....you dont understand anything in pinball either music (this table has arrangement of classic composition btw). pls buy some stern's Ironman or Metallica and leave us - "old farts" alone.
My guess is it's going to be No Fear, Fish Tales, and Diner 3 pack.
Elvira likes to dine. We know this from her tables (BBQ Bonus). There's a picture of a car, mentioning laps so that's clearly a reference to fishing. And since she's driving a car with no hands, that's where "No Fear" comes into play. I do think Party Zone will be an unlockable in this pack though.
Which is odd, 'cause it really plays more like a late 70's early SS.Class of 1812 is from the 90's it was made in 1991!!!

To get a high score, you basically just keep going for the drop targets on each side of the playfield, and that's about what's to it. There are some other nice tricks, a mostly pointless multiball (at least when the left ramp is properly modded to make it harder to hit), and a guaranteed "random" extra ball if you know the trick, but the rule set is disturbingly shallow, so while I always like picking up a game of the physical table once in a while, I can imagine it gets boring fast in a digital remake. I'm glad to see it in TPA though.
For me The best Gottlieb pins were from the mid 1970's through the early 1980's. after that they started to just fall too far behind the other manufacturers.
Stargate (1995) and Class of 1812 (1991) kind of break this rule for me though. I'd like to see both.
Edit - maybe Bone Busters from 1989 too.
