What were the updates? I tried looking through the page, but couldn't see any changes.
Have you been reading the thread at all? FS added an extra reward tier with the option of becoming a beta tester. Over the course of two days following the announcement, contributions swelled.

Would love to see this T2 table on the PS3, but I have a gut-feeling that the Kickstarter may struggle to meet it's target, although it's shot up recently I worry it may not go much higher from this point and fall well short of the $59,000 needed, real shame.

Despite saying a long time ago that I wasn't interested in T2 (which I really am not still) I will be contributing to the KS shortly. Honestly, I just want to support FS in any way that I possibly can.

Did you really think they would waste time and resources on this until they knew they were getting on Steam?

There are other places to sell PC games besides steam... shocking, I know. But their time and resources are stretched thin enough already.. HOWEVER I believe if they had just developed on PC initially instead of the 360 then we would all be better off in the long run,. ps3 versions would be better, PC would be ready and you can easily port to mobiles..

farsight, hire some software engineers for the love of ritchie

Steam was chosen because of the need for DRM. Other methods of distribution that were available to FarSight did not include DRM in a form that would have been acceptable to FarSight's licensors.

The 360 and the PC development environments are very similar to each other. The 360 has particular advantages in terms of debugging and certain other development features that led to it being chosen as the development platform.

The PS3 is a completely different architecture and there is no reason to believe it would have turned out better had it been ported from PC over the 360. Given that the mobile platforms each have 32 tables available, I do not see where FarSight is having difficulty porting to iOS and Android.

There are at least six full-time software developers on FarSight's staff that I'm aware of. I'm assuming there are also others who do not participate publicly on these forums.

Over PC? Hardly. I bet the choice of 360 as main dev platform is either a personal choice or because it's easier to port from console hardware to other consoles and similarly limited sevices than from a PC configuration.

Arguably, it shouldn't be that difficult to port from xbox to PC, they both share similar directx APIs.

No, the PS3 is not DirectX-based at all, so the 360 does not make an easier starting point for ports to PS3.

Mike once explained why they use the 360 version for development instead of PC. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find that thread right now. I do remember it has a lot to do with the keeping the game and the development environment separate, so that if the game crashes (which software in early development is expected to do frequently) there is less chance of it taking down the development environment with it. Also, some of the performance profiling tools are easier to use and more robust for 360 than for Windows. There were 3 or 4 other reasons as well...really wish I could find his post now.

Using a tracker to determine whether a given kickstarter project will succeed or fail, is a lot like trying to determine the outcome of a presidential race using gallop polls. Nobody really knows who won until the polls close. The Kickstarter website lists all the necessary information, including the current pledged amount, the goal, and the amount of time left. Everything else is statistically irrelevant. Also bear in mind that most campaigns will look like an inverse bell curve with regards to daily pledges. There will be a high amount in the beginning and the end, with a trough in the middle. In the case of T2, there are also a couple of spikes right near the middle of the trough due to the recent updates.

Statistically irrelevant? I think all the trackers use is statistics. Making them statistically relevant.

I'd feel a little better if it were in the mid to late $40s.

Starting to get nervous. :/

Actually, HBO and FarSight were in negotiations to digitize The Sopranos table, but as Bobby said, it just didn't work out.

I read that as he didn't know that there IS a soprano machine out there. perhaps i'm reading it wrong.

Just read the interview and I didn't see that part. He just said it didn't happen. He also said "I would love to work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean table. Dr. Who is another one we would love to do. But with so many different doctors, some being deceased, it may be hard to get all those likenesses.”

Damn!!, from a cracking day on Saturday the last 2 days have been awful!! Which completely negates Saturdays progress!!

No it doesnt.

Before Saturday and Sunday, the KS was trending towards <80% completion. It is still tracking towards >100% now.

It still needs one more big push to make it. Most I think are counting on that big push towards the last few days.

I'm glad. Soprano's is lame and so is the Stern machine.

Pirates of the Caribean is a cool machine, and I think it would be great for the arcade, especially since it's still a relevant property that could get more mainstream audiences into pinball.

However, all us real pinheads want Indiana Jones... didn't Bobby say Disney/Lucas properties were not going to happen? Indiana Jones is like top 10 in most circles, not to mention you could get two tables the 93 Williams and the 2000-something Stern.

What happened to Family Guy/Simpsons? Too expensive? I'd rather have Family Guy and just get Black Rose as the pirate themed table.
