Thank you very much for adding these! The best way I know to get the default high scores is to back up all your save data remotely, delete the app, reinstall the app, redownload each table, then look at the high scores before restoring your save data. And, if you have a couple devices you play...
The ROM has Rudy call you Biff for the first game after being reset. If you finish a game and then play more games without exiting the table or quitting a game in progress, then Rudy will begin calling you other random names. But, yes the random number generator that picks which name Rudy...
Great reference. Thanks for putting this together. Would it be possible to add the default high scores for each table? I always thought that seeing those was a good way to get a sense for what realistic scores would be for a table to start out with. Thanks again.
I'm sure the Williams negotiations will end positively. They have before and they will again. Without that, The Pinball Arcade's future is greatly diminished so FarSight needs to get it done. And, the Williams rights holders are monetizing licenses that would otherwise mostly lie fallow (the...
I figured as much. Sorry, I didn't write that as clearly as I could have. I can relate about cats interfering with playing The Pinball Arcade. One of my cats loves to walk right between me and my iPad propped up on a box while I'm playing. I've had to get fairly handy with that pause button...
I like this idea a lot. However, your latest game's score should be submitted whether you finish the game or not. If you have a crappy first ball and rage-quit that game to start another, you should be penalized by having whatever score you accumulated on that aborted game count as your score...
Uh... no. You'd have only one of the three strikes. Plus, you have a pause button if the cat jumps in your lap so that presumably your whole game wouldn't be screwed up. If you play one lousy game, and the cat jumps in your lap three more times on three different games and you can't use the...
I could even see a modified version, where you can play as many times as you like as long as you keep beating your highest score. Say you're given three times to fail to beat your highest score. After these three "strikes" you can no longer advance your score on that table.
If the Williams negotiation is sorted out then I think we'd see something like Fish Tales and either Sorcerer (as it's a PHOF table), or High Speed. (And if it's not, we'll probably see a pack like that as soon as it is.)
Assuming they're still working on wrapping up that negotiation, Aces...
The issue with accelerometer based nudging (on iOS anyways) is that it's quite binary (there's either a nudge or not, no variable magnitude of nudge), and seems to assume that whenever the device is vertical, it's being nudged. Thus, if you're in a reclined position and holding the device...
That is actually rather amazing. I know of one friend who's sort of a marginal pinball fan. I showed him The Pinball Arcade and he was impressed with it, but I think he's waiting for Black Knight 2000 to come out before buying it. BK2K was always his favorite real-life pinball table.
