OK. Yeah. I know that whole rigmarole is rather... involved. But, all that seems to add to the experience for me. And, it doesn't prevent me from playing individual games when I want. Any other "systems" out there that people use to challenge themselves on a multi-game basis?
My Pinball Challenge:
I start with a journal where I begin with the default high scores for each table. The journal gets updated any time I get a new high score (relative to the journal) while playing My Pinball Challenge (you could use the native high score boards in The Pinball Arcade, but...
I think if you hit the volcano directly after the ball is ejected out of the volcano, it happens so fast that the ROM thinks the ball just fell back into the volcano, and just ejects it again. It's the same way a number of tables will just re-eject a ball from an eject hole if it falls back...
No original High Speed in this list of standouts? I know I've been High Speed's biggest cheerleader, but I also know I'm not the only one rooting hard for it. Lot of other great ones there, though.
I've heard the "100 tables" aspiration from FarSight. I'm not sure if that's 100 total tables or if that means they'd like to have the top 100 tables in ipdb.org. I've heard it interpreted both ways. Either way, I think that leads to six seasons. Two tables per pack for five seasons would be...
As a Williams/Bally (esp. Williams) diehard, yeah, I gotta say I'm getting a little through with all the Gottlieb SS machines. If you want to add a ton of Gottlieb, go with their old EM machines. That's when Gottlieb really had the best tables. Of course, I'm still enjoying new tables...
It's not so much a mishearing of the quote as it is unfortunate timing, but I always grimace during a game of Medieval Madness when I hit the Castle during a hurry-up only to have the ball ricochet STDM, and then have Merlin exclaim, "Good! Good! Good!".
Help me out here. What is the tremendous appeal of Seawitch? It doesn't look like a bad table, but it just looks kind of... meh. I mean the blue colors are pretty, but the playfield doesn't look like it has anything particularly interesting going on. I've never played the table in real life...
It's Monster Bash. But that would be pretty damn funny if they deliberately put some unreleased table mostly obscured in the background of that picture just to send all of us fanboys' hearts a-twitter. It'd beat the heck out of that last hint for Tee'd Off and Haunted House. :)
Should have gone with one arrow pointing to The Addams Family, a second arrow pointing to Jersey Jack's Wizard of Oz, and a third arrow pointing to Evel Knievel. The forums would have crashed with the overwrought speculation. :)
Yeah, I'm not really sure why so many people up and thought Bram Stroker's Dracula was a likely choice for Pack #19. Ok, sure Halloween is coming up, but we have already had a lot of horror-themed tables, and I'm not sure how holiday-centric FarSight is really trying to be. Yes, we got the...
