I'm dying to see how much of our speculation in the last BlahCade podcast hits the mark. Very stoked to hear about haptic feedback and accelerometer. Will colorized DMD be coming to the Steam versions of the games too?
I keep seeing these posts about FX4, and I just wonder why? The current engine is just fine, as is the interface and functionality. Is it purely being speculated on because of the PS5 and new Xbox? Is it something people are demanding or just merely a "well it fits a timeline" sort of thing?

Nope. It’s that the Stern tables that were left carried a hefty license fee that FarSight didn’t wanna pay for, and Gottlieb’s didn’t sell as well, especially non DMD. Their game engine was 7+ years old and it showed in comparison to Zen FX3, but clearly they could see the cost of R&D for a new...
A license fee will still have to be paid for digital versions, it’s just those fees have already been negotiated. Prevents having to hunt down the rights for every actor, the music, whatever. So yes, easier, but still gonna cost a little extra beyond just having Stern license.
If Zen does do EBD, I for once will be able to compare it to the real thing as I've got one in my garage!
Just wanted to also state that Zen will never do a kickstarter (thank god), as they feel it is on them to strike a deal and pay for it, not to rely on crowd funding. This I have been told...
I predict...
- 3 or 4 licensed DMD tables, but none with the name Indiana Jones.
- alpha numeric packs with custom Zen DMD implementation
- a 3 pack of originals consisting of Operencia, Dreadnaughts, and Disco Dodgeball
- Rise of Skywalker plus 2 side story tables, timed for the video release...
I’ve got NGG and Creature to 2 stars, the other 3 are all close behind. Getting 3-4 limited time challenge cycles in a day, paying the 1 coin each time too and getting more parts each time. Now we just need parts to populate in regular daily challenges.
If you’ve paid any attention to my posts about the app over the past year, you’d know there’s ways of getting all the tables fully upgraded without spending a dime. Paying $10 is for people with no patience, who refuse to recognize it as a mobile free to play app and instead want it to be a...
Other colors are there. Use left flipper before launch to select color, select it with right flipper. And by the way, there is an extra part available under the Z coin card of the limited time challenge. Still cannot earn Monster Pack parts in regular daily challenges though.
Cactus Canyon Continued is a fan made ROM based on notes from the developers. It never existed even in the design phase, so not sure Zen will be able to do it, other than if they programmed it themselves. It’s a real bummer, cuz CCC is so much fun and better in every way than basic CC.
As for...
The point I remember being made by Mel in one of our conversations is not that anything in these tables would increase the rating, just that they have to change what is listed as being in the game. That means adding ‘sexual innuendo, alcohol, and gambling references’ to what pops up under the...
I was gonna say, I'm still hearing Pinball Wizard on Steam, iOS app, and Switch. When I heard it was the 'old' menu song, I thought it was the REALLY old menu song that wasn't Pinball Wizard at all!
