Would love to see that confirmation myself.
Also sounds like the absolute death nail for FarSight doing anything else with pinball, as it seems like a last minute cash grab before abandoning the license.
Because it becomes this massive thing that has to continually be carried forward, and any time a change or update is made to the game, yet another ‘legacy’ board has to be created. Planned leaderboard wipes (I like that rolling idea) makes it so a person has to defend their position, that new...
deep I know the leaderboards might seem like a concern, but if you asked any player "would you rather have leaderboards in favor of the better physics", nobody is going to pick leaderboards. Or if they do, they aren't fans of pinball, they are just fans of being atop leaderboards. No pinball...
If FarSight had anything to do with this, it's quite shocking they haven't said a thing. Also, I would think it'd go in direct competition with the deal they have with Arcooda (not that anyone has seen one of those cabinets yet), but who knows? I mean it makes total sense that this would use the...
NBA Fastbreak - I always am going to ask for it, though I think Zen should time that for May in preparation for the NBA Finals.
Addams Family - A fantastic looking and playing version of it? Yes please.
Dirty Harry - Go ahead Zen, make my day. Plus it wasn't in TPA.
Johnny Mnemonic - Because I...
Zen responded to a tweet I sent the other day. New special challenges are one the way for more parts, and then come December they’ll be integrated into regular challenges. There’s a method to the madness here, as it allows people who don’t have many tables maxed to quickly get the new tables to...
The Monster Pack tables should allow you to collect parts soon. Clearly Zen just hasn’t flipped the switch on it yet. That’s the new question to be asking them, when that’ll happen. In the meantime stockpile coins because you will always need those for that final upgrade now and for future tables.
It’s only 2 stars, same as it was for Vol 4. The final upgrade costs 100 coins and 100 table parts. If you don’t like grinding, go to the store and make a one time purchase of the Pro Physics, Pro Difficulty, and visual enhancement. It’s good for any past and future tables.
End song is in. Rock Around the Clock and Get A Job are missing. Said they contacted license holders but didn’t hear back from those two. They’re hoping eventually to get a response.
I never believed it was a big factor until I talked in depth to one of the guys up at FarSight and heard how much weight is put into decisions that affect leaderboards. And then either Akos or Jeno over at Zen stated they'd need to create an additional leaderboard for Vol 1-3 to accommodate any...
When Stern puts out a code update, do any in the pinball community raise a fuss over their high scores? Of course not. They hunker down and play another round of pinball.
This is what frustrates me with leaderboards for digital pinball. I have no sympathy for anyone's 5 hour marathon that they...
I said it in the podcast, I’ll say it here...the people that would raise hell over the leaderboards being affected are the main reason Zen is being slow to implement flipper physics on Vol 1-3. They have to put in an ‘archived’ leaderboard since the new physics might make high scores more...
I've played the working prototype of Playboy, it was very much a whitewood, and most of the animations were static placeholders. I also played the prototype for Wizard Blocks but don't know if that was the completed version you mention or not, but it too was a whitewood.
I was just thinking about this today...
Remember when FarSight announced they were going to do that Alvin G Soccer? They even bought the thing and had it in the studio. The only factor was they first had to work out online head to head, which did go into what they called a beta, but it...
