Except the few well-known TPA wizards roaming here (those who can put a crazy highscore almost when they want -well... I suppose- , 1 or 2 tries at most), tourney final results for a common player mostly depend on how much time you have spent on it. ;)
At least limited attempts (3 or 5 per...
That's the real fun. More dilemma, more strategy.
When I see some crazy top scores, how many tries it took to achieve these perfect runs? When I meant "tries", I mean "pause and restart" until the perfect play scheme happens.
I know it, because I did it in the past, when I wanted to win some...
Hello Law,
I tried to download this week master data (July, 24th), but it downloads a partial csv (dated July 14th), containing only the scores until Black Knight table (22 thousands lines, all other tables are missing).
PSN players are just milking cows for FS. Last update on PS3 was in December, 2015: 7 months ago (last table: Frankenstein).
I bet the next update (maybe in September?) will only add the missing tables and only that. No fixes, no physics 3.0 on older tables.
Sad. :(
Tournaments should work like this. Only the last score saved, even if it is lower than the previous one. It would induce some randomness in the tourney leaderboard and more strategy.
And a "Pause and Restart" would grant 0 points. ;)
It has been requested many times but it seems we will have...
Yeah, I tried too. But even on a CRT (with an HDMI port), the lag is unbearable for me. Especially those awkward horizontal shots when you flip from the tip. ^^
Good highscore hunt anyway. :p
You don't have input lag / render lag in 1080p?
A fast checking is to scroll the table list in the main menu.
In 1080p, the table list scrolls way more slowly than in 720p. On a table, the flippers react weirdly, and the ball seems to weigh a ton.
In fact, I think that TPA on PS3 is in 720p...
I own a cheap no-brand controller for PS3/PC. The left analog stick has a factory calibration defect.
I try to explain, for a 3D game, with a moving character:
Stick "idle": the character doesn't move
Stick pushed in the four main directions (1, 3, 5, 7) : the character move accordingly...
Simply calibrate the controller stick under Windows, in order to never get a full strength nudge, that prevents warnings (and tilt).
Relaxation wrote a post about it, which showed it's easily doable.
PS: I blame nobody on this thread. ;)
Tarek & co are legit players for me. But some scores...
TPA Scorecard 6.0 is out:
Link to the .ods file in the first post.
- Add TX-Sector
- Add a "Vs ID - Draw" result in case of tie-scores on the compare page
- Number of removed Hacked/Glitched/Doubles ID scores up to 70
- Add Score Date column on the Compare Page

Leaderboard Data...
It seems that the new GUI implementation requires to update all the tables in the same process. So, FlippyFloppy stated that they will took the opportunity to implement physics 3.0 on the older tables.
I wonder how FS (and Sony) will handle this. If this happens...
Note: but reading Mobiles...
Normal behavior. Although the local highscore shows 9.9M, the correct value is send to the online leaderboards.
ST:TNG has also the same problem (9.9B), at least on PS3.
Back in time (80-90's), I played:
One time:
- Pin*Bot (in a funfair, bad shape)
- World Cup '94 (during foreign holidays, a pretty fun table)
- ToTAN (same foreign holidays, good shape)
Several times:
- Monster Bash (good shape, except Frankie who didn't record a shot, unless if it was very...
Yeah, true, but it was about the main menu page, with the old 6 color rectangles (My Tables, New Tables, Leaderboards, etc.) > " Basically linear gradiants with bevel and emboss filters on top. Kinda thing we used to see all the time when photoshop was first released. "
FS replaced them later...
Yeah, I never understood why FS never re-used these great tunes (composed by Chris Kline for FS):
2'34" part always gives me chills.
The real "Pinball Wizard" song is a nice touch though.
About the old UI, nobody said it was ugly, but it could have been more functional.
The new UI is more functional (still very clunky in some parts), but FS succeed to make it VERY UGLY.
Visually, it's clearly a regression. And it gives a very bad impression for a newcomer.
And PC. On which there is the less number of players btw.
That's already the case for me... since the beginning of Season 4.
On the other hand, playing on PS3, one of the less supported and polished version, helps a lot to be suspicious about FS policy.
This. The new menu features are good, but it's very (very) ugly.
From a 70's pinball ambiance (habitrails, orange light arrows, hawaiian palm trees):
To a 90's very cheap DVD menu style (where's the pinball spirit/ambiance?)
