There's another video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHwjtbdXaYU
The plastic parts makes it look very cheap. But hey... 200 bucks.
Note: the guy tries Bounce Passes several times (e.g. 2m25s) and... it doesn't work at all. ^^
Zen is a shooter with a pinball theme. Complete a mission requires to master several successful shots in a row in a very short time window. Learn patterns, ball paths, predefined physics, rinse and repeat, until you find the best and sure way to complete a mission.
On most of the tables, it's...
I wish it would be also possible to choose to nudge either with the analog stick or the D-Pad. Like in Zen (options to toggle stick or D-Pad for nudging)
To be more precise, PS3 has physics 3.0 starting from Cyclone, because Cyclone/J*B/Xenon/RS/SC were released at the same time on PS3, so FS took the opportunity to release Cyclone & Jack-Bot with physics 3.0 already implemented.
Since then, nothing on the other tables.
Multiball plunger camera bug is very old, btw...
On ST:TNG, a temporary fix is to not flip until all balls are launched. It works 80% of the time (during Borg Multiball start or Final Frontier)
I don't know for MB, I didn't play this table since ages.
Zen is a shooter game with a pinball theme. Once used to it, it's a good game. Not as good as TPA, but a lot more polished (at least on PS3).
My love for TPA slowly fades, as FS support is near from zero now. With one update per year, i would expect that TPA on PS3 would be at least on par...
Yeah, nice work.
Some feedback soon. For instance, I'm almost sure Drop Catches are impossible on PS3 (even on the most recent tables, which have physics 3.0). Usual Trap instead when attempting a Drop Catch (because the ball is bouncy as hell on PS3 due to the rubber bounciness of the old...
+1.
Some scores reached in Top Ten just become... ridiculous. Where's the fun? Do these players enjoy grinding for hours?
Even if I was able to reach these scores, I pretty sure I won't try.
The next PS3 update will decide if I'm done or not with TPA.
If after several months (7 months!), the next update only contains the new tables data, and only that (no physics 3.0 on older tables, no bug fixes -like the BH and FH leaderboards still broken, the jump rope still broken on TCP-...
Nudging is mandatory. Once used to it, it's almost like you can control the ball.
Learning the predefined ball paths helps a lot too. Most tables become then a railroad simulation. ^^
For the Pinball Wizards on TPA forum, don't pay attention to them. At some point, playing a 12-hours game have...
Good idea. The video is really well done.
As it's just a mockup, I imagine you didn't include purposely Tip/Flick Passes, which in TPA, are very hard to do, as a Cradle Separation (very inconsistent, at least on PS3), and finally the usual and easy Post Passes
TPA Scorecard 5.9 is out:
Link to the .ods file in the first post.
- Add LAH
- Add the player's latest highscore date (overall and per season)
- Some sheet presentation modifications (see screenshots in the first post)
- Fix diff. average rank formulas in order to not include JD:SG
- Clean...
That will be a huge task!
This one would make my day: list of all known hacked/glitched scores in the top 100 for all tables, with the reason why you delete them. Under 100, it's not much relevant as it makes almost no difference in granted points.
Oh... and good luck for git. I'm in since a...
Hey, InVitro, I think something is wrong about how you merge the guys playing with the same ID on different platforms.
For example, [Sir Moovenstein] (PC) and [Sir_Moovenstein] (PSN).
It's ok that you take the best scores for both IDs (on some tables, he has a better score on PC, on other...
Thanks for this very informative post about nuding in Zen.
I don't use the analog stick to nudge for a simple reason: nudging is inverted in Zen! (unlike TPA). When you push the stick to the right, the ball goes to the right (maybe it's because the nudge doesn't affect the ball when it's in the...
That's the way the nudging works in Zen.
When the ball is in "open air" (i.e. touching nothing), the ball trajectory is not affected by nudging. But if the ball is in contact with any objects on the table (rubbers, posts, etc), the nudging effect is strong as hell (even too strong, you can go...
On PS3, Sony allowed it one time with the infamous "megapatch".
Basically, all the DLC were replaced in the Store, and an in-game message were displayed when you launched a table "New game data are available for this table. Download now".
After that, FS claimed that they would be now possible...
