Big Bear City Council considers lifting pinball ban

I think the point is that before the introduction of flippers pinball machines actually were to a large part gambling machines. You had very little influence on the ball if any, and a lot of places actually gave out prizes for getting replays.

Bug High scores and objectives vanished

I'm kind of wondering if it doesn't have something to do with windows file access somehow. I've had something vaguely similar happen in the past because the location the program was saving to was heavily restricted read/write access. Although it only happening during updates makes that seem a...

PC Version 1.22.7 Discussion and Feedback

I tested firepower today and on cam 3 I can see the outlanes fine apart from the bottom side section but there's no saving the ball at that point anyway. Are you using 1200x1920 or 1080x1920? I'm curious if that makes a difference.

PC - Request Add Portrait mode

The portrait mode works fine on PC on everything I've tested so far. Someone said there are some tables where you can't see the outlanes because it cuts them off, but every table I've tried so far has worked fine with it. I have to agree though, it's really amazing and I'd have a hard time going...

Where randomness is good in digital pinball.

Quantum physics influencing anything on the macro scale is so unlikely you can completely ignore it when talking about things like pinball, or life in general.

Timeframe on DX11 (Side Debate on the Effects of Piracy)

It's interesting, but you have to again consider how many of those playing the cracked copies would have actually bought the game if that wasn't possible. Some would have I'm sure, but it almost certainly would have been a tiny fraction. Companies report lost profits to piracy in media a lot in...

What tables do you hate with a white hot passion?

I'm honestly a bit surprised how many people hate Tee'd Off. It's one of my favorite tables in TPA, easily in the top 10. It's incredibly complex and does very clever things without an over-reliance on ramps. Of course, as always, it's a matter of personal tastes. It's just curious how divisive...

    Update changed everything to worse!

The table controlled just fine for me from the day of release. Which platform are you playing on?

Where randomness is good in digital pinball.

I haven't seen the former happen, but I agree that the latter needs to be fixed. It's already been reported and probably being looked into. The problem is there's often some problems with the contact physics between the plunger and the ball when a new ball enters the plunger lane, instead of...

    Portrait View?

This man speaks the truth. I tried this for the first time with my pivot monitor the other day on the PC and it's insane how good it looks and how much it improves gameplay when you can see the entire playfield easily at once. It's a total gamechanger and I really hope PSN gets an option for it...

Where randomness is good in digital pinball.

Plunger strength is about the only thing I agree with here, but I think it's already predictable enough. We already know we're not going to get more fidelity in physics modeling because mobiles can't handle the cpu load. Randomness done right can simulate it just as well. For example those orbit...

What tables do you hate with a white hot passion?

Harley Davidson. I don't think I even need to go into details but it's just incredibly boring and the theme does nothing for me. The soundwork is uninspired. The bike toy at the center is about the only relatively cool thing about the entire table, but it's not used enough and really just way...

    XP vs Windows 7 & 8

I'm pretty sure all the heavy lifting in TPA should be on the GPU, considering what kind of hardware the physics engine runs on in mobiles. That said, there are some pretty weird CPU load spikes on non-emulated (mainly pre-SS era) tables at times. Regardless, ball reflections/post...

PC Version 1.22.7 Discussion and Feedback

I pivoted my screen and gave a test at the 10:16 playfield today, and I was totally blown away at how awesome it is. Kudos to FS for making that work properly. I was a bit dubious beforehand but it really transforms the game visually and it feels like it's easier to play when you can see...

[It's Over] Farsight previewing BR live on Twitch

Not trying to be a bummer or anything but I wonder where they expect us to request it. I'm pretty sure various people have been clamoring for that feature on these forums dozens of times since release. And yeah add this post to one of those too because that feature would be Kickin' Rad.

    Bug Black Rose leaderboard bug

Here's a one minute video which should demonstrate the bug pretty clearly. Nothing about the game is saved to leaderboards locally or online. http://www.twitch.tv/horsehammer/c/3565658 After inputting your name the game starts a four player game with the name crap still on the screen and...

    Your Table High Scores

How do you get to 20 trillion on afm or 2 billion on black hole? That's just baffling.

    So when's 19 and 20 gonna hit?

No slam dunks in those packs for sure. I did like victory a fair bit and el dorado is okish. At least after that you have fish tales coming which is just absolutely stellar.

Is nudging an absolute necessary skill to master ?

I would say that reaching the wizard mode in any TPA table currently in is definitely possible with 0 nudging, if you just want to "finish" the game as it were, but nudging will definitely help you a lot. I couldn't imagine playing the game without heavy use of it. With TPA it isn't in most...
