I'm also happy that along with the friends leaderboard fix it seems that the application stopped crashing while browsing the leaderboards, which is really nice.
Interesting. Thanks for the info on that. I've never played a real CBW machine so I guess it's just a function of the emulation replicating the error. I guess I'm pretty ok with that then overall.
Ok so I don't have a very solid reproducable effect, because I only had this happen once during several hours of play, but I'm reporting it anyway.
During the 9-ball mode when you're supposed to hit 1-7 in sequence it's supposed to rerack the balls if you hit a sequence ball and the next one...
Yes, version is 1.27.6.
Tables that show friends scores from at least some other people but not myself:
BK2000, Lights Camera Action, Space Shuttle, Twilight Zone, Attack from Mars, Cactus Canyon, Haunted House, Cue Ball Wizard.
Tables that show no friends scores at all:
All the other tables...
I'm really glad you figured out the problem. Just out of curiosity though, do you feel that fixing the problem is also going to fix the leaderboards crashing when browsing them for a while in general? I think the two might be connected since the instability didn't start till the friends...
If I remember right from what they were saying a few years back they're just going to default to offline mode and prevent games from calling home when launching permanently. It might break online capabilities in quite a few games though, so I don't know if they have a solution available for that.
Thanks for looking into this Mike. Also sent a friend invite.
I'm not sure if this is relevant to the root of the problem, but note that a bunch of us show partial (everyone except myself) friends scores on some tables, but none at all on others. If you can't get enough info on tales test some...
This probably won't actually happen as long as PC developers actually keep using up the amount of computing power you get from desktops. The difference between mobile devices and desktops will narrow (in some senses as in pure cpu cycles, but that's not all that meaningful these days), but not...
Tossing out some grumblings here as well since it's been a really long time at this point waiting for this. My only solace is that I have a lot more free time till it gets fixed.
I actually tested this yesterday, and it is still loopable, but there are a couple more potential trajectories and one of them requires a double nudge to get the ball back under control. I think it's still the optimal strategy for scoring on Gorgar, but slightly less terrible for the player than...
Interesting. It worked on release PC but I haven't tried it lately at all. If they fixed that that's actually really good because it was a pretty terrible feature in an otherwise great table. I'll give it another go.
Don't sell yourself short. You're pretty clearly above everyone else in tenacity, and skill as well. Gorgar does have a clear strategy to grind for points as well, it's just horribly boring.
I'm going to say Tee'd Off. Post-Black Hole gottliebs are largely really terrible, but that table manages to have an astoundingly complex ruleset with fun shots, a pretty unconventional layout and a nice retro art look.
The people who think zen has realistic physics are the same people who say TPA has floaty ball mechanics I guess, because the zen ball is clearly a lead ball coated with sandpaper and the playfield surfaces are velcro. I don't really mean to bash on zen too much. I got a good 50 hours of fun out...
I guess the idea was already dumped, but I'd like to pipe up and say that making popular tables worth more points is a terrible idea in my opinion. It'd totally invalidate the efforts of people who like playing EM tables or certain brilliant undervalued gottliebs like tee'd off a lot. Yes I'm...
Noting that I have the exact same problems Xanija does (Never see my own friend scores, don't see friend scores at all on a lot of tables), with about 100 TPA / 180 total steam friends. I did the beta log test thing, but I won't bother pasting it here unless you want me to since it looks the...
