My 70M game was slower than that, I think about 2.5 hours, although I was still experimenting with shot angles and railroad tactics. And of course shooting Boomerang on the fly is faster, but I find that much less reliable (about 75%) so I prefer the slower hold pass method.
I covered these in the TZ forum.
Bonus X: Hold the right flipper while the *Powerball* ejects from the slot machine and it will railroad into the right inlane. This isn't 100% reliable but about 98%. Then just shoot the left ramp of course (although with the Powerball, aim higher than you...
TPA has problems with many spinny elements like that. Taxi's skill shot and HRC's roulette wheel also let the ball spin around an unrealistic number of times. Creature's and Whitewater's whirlpools seem more reasonable, although they feel like the ball is hardcoded to about 3 revolutions...
Don't seem to have a strategy thread, so guess I'll start one. Just put up 70M, first #1 score I've had in a while.
The big tip: Ignore Comet. Shoot Cyclone.
Cyclone is both an easier shot and more forgiving. It feels like there's a considerably wider timing window to hit it than the narrow...
Sucks to be #11, then!
Seriously, the weekly/monthly boards already serve the purpose that everybody wants. There's no need to reset anything or to make the all-time board a gimped rehash of the time-based lists. All-time means all-time.
I'd be interested - skype is erikmooney - but yeah we want a bit more info about what you're actually doing. Also I'm only really interested in TPA not Zen.
invitro: I've thought about doing that sort of thing. I sometimes do short non-video writeups that touch on that area about my TotM or...
It's not Getaway. They wouldn't blow their two best remaining unlicensed Williams DMDs back to back. Gotta save something to sell season 5.
I think a Gottlieb is as good a guess as any for #40, though no idea which one.
Suppose I should follow up on that one. :) Yes, the automatic import in LibreOffice worked fine. Although it depresses me slightly to see all the tables where I've dipped to #3 or #5 and could take back #1 if only I felt like grinding for twelve hours. :) Which leads to a feature suggestion...
Yes, it's all about Castle Multiball. The lock shot is absurdly safe compared to a real machine, for both made and missed shots. Forget actual castles and BFTK and everything around Multiball Madness. I made my 8 billion (retired from easily going infinite) on the leaderboard without ever...
This feeling is very real, I get it too. But it's also not true. You can always get better. But it's a question of improving at pinball and TPA in general, not just on these specific tables.
These tables can't be gamed by exploitable railroads or lopsided strategy. You need to play the...
A tournament with no extra balls would be all about maxing the bonus on each ball at 570K. This isn't trivial to do, I manage it on maybe a bit over half my balls on this table. There's enough room for skill testing in that. Beyond 570K on all three balls, then yes any further scoring is only...
There are tables where sound cues matter. Anything with a verbal countdown timer, like continent modes on Ripley's or the cashier countdown on Jack*Bot or the end of Lost in the Zone. Sometimes a countdown cue is in the music, like Lightning Lamp on TOTAN. Jackpot voiceovers can also help on...
Already got a a first place avatar so I don't think I'm interested in a third place one...
And pardon me while I grumble about the vagaries of pool groupings, where I finish third despite beating the top two players on 3/4 and 4/4 tables. Not that anyone's going to shed any tears for me. :)...

I had a weird bit on Monster Bash. The table lost a ball so I thought that game was dead. But eventually the ROM gave up on ball searching, ended the ball with a bonus count, and served up an EB. I went ahead and played that...
That the court decision rested on one single skill shot is an urban legend. There was more to it than that. Sharpe played for several minutes, describing plays and strategies, convincingly showing that pinball is a game of skill. The skill shot helped, but Sharpe was fully ready to back up...
If this is counting by games played, it makes sense that Big Shot and Genie are up there. Games go by very quickly on those so players play a lot of games. Conversely, Twilight Zone and Monster Bash probably represent a larger share of playtime than their positions indicate, since games on...
