My secret to handle that: I stop only when a big wizard multiball is about to begin, and use that multiball as low-risk time to settle back in later. So I start a session with LITZ or RTU or Spider Mania or Hole-in-One Challenge and by the time it ends, I'm dialed back in. On games without a...
The Powerball isn't supposed to be in play during the gumball multiball. You use it to start the gumball multiball, but then it sits and stays back in there.
It would make sense, and wouldn't hurt the table, to reuse some geometry and models from Pinbot. Of course they'll scan new textures for all the artwork. But the skill shot spiral, visor, ramp, and pegboard playfield are all identical, why not reuse them? Or if they're not identical after...
I pulled off a death save once on TPA. I forget which table, want to say Medieval Madness. I know it was a screaming fast ball down the right outlane, and I think a straight up nudge saved it. But it's not something that can be done with any consistency.
The most important nudge in TPA is...
Well, it's rarely straight through. Often play for an hour or two after work, break for dinner, another hour or two, watch TV for a while, break overnight, and so on. Helps to play on a desktop PC which never has any issue with sleeping or suspending or crashing.
Interpolation is a word. :)...
Here's a rough rundown based on my memory, of what I've done and a decent guess at top ten. Only covers tables I've done so not most of seasons 3-4.
AFM: 4 hours for my 856M, 3 hours for top ten 589M
Big Shot: 1 hour for my 937K and top ten 1300K
Black Hole: 6-7 hours for my 191M, 4 hours...
Ok, that doesn't rule out legitimacy. All those are possible within a few hours each. Frankly they do look legit, unless it does turn out that a trillion on STTNG is impossible to recognize except by hacking.
I did try to propose such a thing this thread months ago. :) I'm all for it. Just...
Well, we can't prove a negative, that it's not possible. All we can prove is that it hasn't happened for at least a few players. But we don't know if TPA categorically can't recognize a trillion rollover, or if it just failed to detect it in each case as can happen for known missable rollovers...
Thanks for that, I thought I was the only one who doesn't love ToM. It's decent, but there's much better out there. The illusions are grindy to start and pointless to play. The wizard mode is underwhelming and nasty-difficult unless you sneak your way into stacking it with a multiball...
People say the music is lame and the voice work irritating. That might be true but doesn't bother me. The pinballing is very good, yes, one of Stern's best right after LOTR and TSPP.
But TPA's conversion screwed up the physics, in the unshootable right orbit, the frictionless roulette wheel...
Yes, this works around 50% or so. Just nudge upwards as the ball is at the peak of the trajectory above the bumpers. (And if it doesn't, just shoot and try again.)
The most important rules tip: Grand Finale lights a Special for EB each time. That actually becomes the biggest scoring...
Yes, keeping everything to one thread helped a lot, and you're fine on the nag level.
2 plays is good, but how about this? 8 credits total to spend on the four tables allocated however you like. So if you get one killer game on a table, you can just go with that and get an extra shot at one...
Just the first two seasons. I'm still annoyed at High Roller Casino's bad physics with the unshootable right orbit, which was the table I wanted most out of season 3 but refuse to pay for letting something like that out the door. And got my fill of Junkyard and BSD as free tables, one run...
This is a persistent myth. As long as the licensor agrees, Farsight can change whatever. Proof by example: removing songs from CFTBL, removing the Data East logo from POTO, altering the Fester artwork in TAF.
And BBB, being Capcom, would be its own entirely new licensing agreement in which...
Cactus Canyon Continued is the name of that ROM project. It's a fan hack, not official. Googling the name doesn't seem to find any home site, but there's some info here: http://creditdotpinball.com/tag/cactus-canyon-continued/
Ok, my one game on NGG: 466,768,090. Did that by ignoring golf holes and just shooting towards multiball. Got multiball 5 times and raised the jackpot to about 15M plus collected the super a few times. The other big part of grinding locks is that every ramp shot raises the Range Value, which...
Played one game of NGG (after a five minute warmup), and I think it was good enough, almost an hour. Thought I ended up in trouble when on ball 3 I unintentionally shot the center ramp a third consecutive time, which makes Bud come up to block it (and locks and multiball) for the rest of the...
The whole point is I would worry about it anyway even if I don't have to. :) Plus I don't really feel like playing either BH or CFTBL, they're boring grind-fests for me even without EBs, and I have other stuff to get done today. I'll play NGG in a few hours later tonight.
