PC Master Race, you guys. No suspending or crashing or anything.
Slam23, I'm amazed that anyone gets up to top leaderboard spots on an iPad. Touchscreen controls are just so much less precise. You'd totally dominate with keyboard or gamepad controls.
Funhouse has long had something wrong...
Yes, perfect video mode earns an extra ball. I guess folks don't look in the table strategy forums here, it's been mentioned plenty. The other important part is that after you get the maximum 3 EBs in a game, all would-be EBs including video mode award 30M instead, which is a fairly sizable...
That last suggestion wouldn't be a correct recreation of a pinball machine. They don't have separate buttons for upper flippers (with a few rare exceptions.) You can't flip an upper flipper without also flipping a lower one. What TPA does with L1/R1 is exactly what real machines do, engage...
That's my point. Getaway has been "safe to assume" from that leak so many times now that I don't believe it any more, until it's actually announced for sure.
This wasn't mine. I don't own season 3.
I honestly have no memory of playing that game now. Best guess is 5-6 hours or so. I think I switched over to playing multiball instead of the left ramp once I had the #1 score at the time (500M) just because it was less boring.
Hasn't Getaway been "certain" for like almost every table since like #25?
I'm not confident in Getaway itself, but I am confident the season will have one more premium DMD out of something like that or Road Show or Safecracker or maybe something wild like Jurassic Park. The last table needs to...
I'd recommend Monster Bash for put-up. It's the most balanced out of these tables and the most fair gauge of skill. I think Put-Up should aim for balance rather than punishment. Punishing doesn't equate to skill-testing. Avoiding the house balls on Centaur and Whirlwind doesn't mean you're...
But you just said it about a skill shot, not for any time you're in the Thing saucer. :p
Anyway, I got into bonus glitch zone again, and managed the rollovers correctly to put up 33B on the leaderboard this time. Took only 3 hours, two to accumulate the mansion rooms and one to cash in. I...
Can't you just short-plunge right to the flippers? If it goes SDTM without hitting any switch, you get it back. Just try again until you do get a catch. Control is more important than anything else you can do off the plunge in the skill shot or ramp.
Surprised nobody found this yet: On any release from the Thing saucer, leave the right flippers down, and you get a bounce to a catch on the left flipper 100%. Just like dropping past STTNG's upper flipper.
That answers what to do with a ball returning from the bear kick ramp after lighting...
I think the game actually calls only the left one the Cellar. The sign says Cellar and it's where you start Cellar Multiball (the multiball restart). The right one is the Cellar Door, the awards are Super Cellar Door awards (or Mega), but not actually a Cellar.
What actually happens is the...
The math is pretty easy to work out. Building 3,500,000 in 5K increments requires 700 rollover completions. With unskilled players and really active bumpers, that could happen in 250 games or so. Maybe 150 games to get up to 2.5M, which is plausible for a day at a show, ten hours at 15 games...
Yup, I totally do that. Well for me a bad leaderboard score is below #20, but you get the idea.
Occasionally the system does break down. I think my current lowest leaderboard position (ignoring TOTAN of course) is Bride somewhere in the #50s, but I'm not exactly motivated to grind ten hours...
Jack*Bot deserves a place in this poll and thread. That multiball often goes really quick, even for me. No ball saver. There's no loopable shots or any place to get balls out of the way even briefly. They just keep crashing around the flippers until something drains. Takes a lot of skill to...
Lots of wackiness happened today for me.
#1: I got a ball perched on top of the visor, by shooting it there just as the barrier lifted during multiball. While it was there, it continually triggered the leftmost visor target, rapidly completing that Mega Visor round for me. (Then the visor...
First time I've noticed somebody messing with me: the 5.44B by "vikingerik" on Addams Family was not mine. I just put up 4.3 billion that actually was mine and that's why I noticed.
Update: the new 7.1 billion is indeed mine, the 5.44B still isn't.
Yeah, the better game out of TSPP vs LOTR is an eternal debate. I like LOTR better as a real machine, but would prefer TSPP for TPA. Because I've played LOTR plenty and covered most of what the machine does, but always want to build up more crazy stacks on TSPP (which is, of course, always...
I kickstarted enough for VIP access, but there's not much of any news from there. They're working on Android next, and continuing to render more table views (which are platform independent.)
Yes, I break down everything methodically like that. What shots can be hit from which flippers, at what reliability and risk levels, for what rewards. That's the core of strategy and everything else is optimization from those inputs.
On nudging in the center... It's just not part of my...
I mean the backbox playfield plays like Victory, you just make the same sequence of stop-and-go shots every time. There's more to the game overall, but not a lot more.
