I'm not sure the cause of the 2 balls colliding issue, recently I added some debugging that lets me see the in between physics updates. So the 6 updates between a frame, I can now rewind back through and see what happened. It'll make fixing these issues easier.
That's correct. Rendering is...
Our physics update at a minimum of 60 times per second. Depending on ball speed it can be more. When in proximity of the flipper or going really fast, they are updated 6 times per frame, or 360 times per second.
The flipper control though is only updated 60 times per second, as we only get...
There is a different between submission and "in the hands of Nintendo". Before we are allowed to submit anything, they have to approve the game concept, which requires them seeing a demo.
Haven't used it in a really long time. Mainly now it's just an ornament on my desk. It did come in handy when I worked on a Game Party in Motion. It was a good stand for the Kinect, moved it up higher off my desk.
Also, most of our videos are done on Xbox 360, unless it's obvious they were done on a tablet or phone. That may change to PC soon since PC is easier to record off of (fraps vs a capture card that limits resolution and framerate)
I should probably clarify...there are many great fans on the facebook page. However there are a handful of trolls, that constantly post negative comments. It seems every time I go to the facebook page I read dozens of insults, which really just turns me off to the page all together...
It is the DRM issue that's giving us the biggest headache on PC.
As Pin Wiz said, we still develop all the tables on Xbox 360 first (for me it's the easiest platform to deal with...actually PC is, but I prefer my devkit to be separate from my debugger/development tool. If the game crashes...
It's a code change so it'll be in the next submitted patch.
It will definitely be with the next table pack after Star Trek. Depending on submissions it may be in with the Star Trek release, depending on platform.
When you say win a free game do you mean get a match at the end of game with the score or something else?
Does the game just stop responding to input (no UI) or does the game completely freeze (table and DMD stop animating)
Yes. As a gamer myself I do understand the frustration of delays.
This is also the 3rd time in my career that a publisher for the company I worked for went bankrupt. It seems more common than it should be. The first time it happened I ended up unemployed. Thankfully the last 2 times, there...
When using the pro mode, leaderboards and goals are disabled. This is to prevent someone from using easier settings to dominate the leaderboards or cheat at getting the goals.
Do you remember which pro mode settings you changed? It's really impossible for us to test every single combination...
I know of an issue with high score entry not working with a mulitplayer game. I haven't found a safe fix for it yet.
We'll take a look at these to see if we can reproduce.
I fixed the ball through the flipper today.
These other 2 issues, did they happen while playing a multiplayer game or did you quit a previous game in the middle?
There was a bug posted on the forums here about the ball going through the flippers. I'm having trouble finding where that post was, so I figured I would post this here since the fix affects all tables.
The issue had a video that showed if you flipped at the tip of one flipper, then quickly...
Sorry I said that wrong.
I meant to say something more like "We'll have a better idea of when our release date will be, once we are able to submit to Microsoft"
As Pin Wiz said, Richard doesn't represent FarSight.
We cannot give out a time frame because the legalities haven't been solved yet. And if we guessed at a date and missed it, it would just anger everyone more.
We'll have a better idea when once the publisher issues have been resolved and we...
