Thanks everyone for all your responses. Unfortunately I won't be able to flip to portrait that TV that has 3D (when I want to experiment with 3D with TPA). And from what I am reading, it sounds like no advantage of widebody over normal-body tables in landscape. But both my monitor and my wall...
Oh, thinking about it further... Isn't the length of a real widebody table pretty close to that of a regular table? So portrait is still the most realistic even on a widebody simulation in TPA?
Which tables in TPA are widebody? Do you feel that Landscape orientation (rather than Portrait) is the best way to play widebody tables in TPA on the PC platform? Am I correct that Genie is widebody in TPA? Is Star Trek Next Generation considered to be widebody in TPA (like it is in real...
That's true about the beta not being completed yet, and I took that into account when I purchased my card. But in my case moving from the older generation AMD R7770 to the new Nvidia GTX 960 was such an overall boost that it was worth it to me regardless. In addition to being able to help with...
I'm still experimenting with the Nvidia Inspector settings from that 2013 post. But one setting I did have to change was the value in "Anisotropic filtering mode". So far a value of "Application-controlled" looks a lot better to me than "User-defined / Off", especially while under DX9.
Under DX11, I could go to a max MSAA of 4 (with Quality of 100) on my AMD R7770, without affecting the fps on most of the the tables under DX11. But even with a MSAA of 4, with some tables such as CV and Black Hole it was crawling under DX11 for me. That's resolved for me with the more powerful...
Yes, even in DX9 version tests (with now Nvidia defaults) the jaggies are bad for me when there is camera movement, for example when the camera is moving to display the plunger for a new ball or moves back to the playfield. (Or in the initial fly over of the table.) However once the ball is in...
I am in 1920x1080 or 1080x1920, so 1080p. With AMD drivers under DX9 I was able to reduce the jaggie edges some by using the Catalyst Control Center setting of Supersampling Anti-Aliasing Method. Since I just installed the new card last night, I haven't tried Nvidia Control Panel settings for...
I have the newly arrived Nvidia GTX 960 installed tonight, which has replaced my AMD R7770. It has indeed fixed the fps drop in CV and Black Hole. (Approximately doubling the fps from before on those two tables, that are amongst those tables that many of us feel are unoptimized in the DX11...
I agree that it's an optimization problem, which I hope for all that Farsight resolves before the DX11 versions leave Beta. And since this is the DX11 Bugs thread, it's good that so many of us have mentioned it here. I would not have bought the new more modern NVidia graphics card if it was...
In order to also get Batman Arkham Knight, you have to purchase a (non-mobile version) GTX 970 or GTX 980. (I was within minutes of getting the 970 till I realized it would have been a stretch for my current power supply both connector-wise and suggested wattage-wise. At which time I decided to...
I tried Overclocking adjusting the voltage too. Did not help on my AMD R7770. Oh well, the Nvidia GTX 960 is now scheduled to arrive here in two days, Friday. And to answer your rhetorical question, Bruno.. It will wind up costing me, after rebates and shipping, $190 U.S. Since I agree with you...
Last night I tried overclocking my AMD R7770 and the results were spotty as far as resolving my TPA issues. (I messed with the clock and memory settings, but did not get into messing with the voltage. Perhaps if I did, I would have seen different results.) At at any rate, after the spotty...
Biff, nope on my AMD R7770 I had switched to using all all the Catalyst Defaults when testing with DX11. So Multisampling is on and Supersampling is off.
Excellent. That's what I guessed after I first posted (and why I subsequently had edited my post). You're awesome! Thanks for doing this for all of us.
Hi Pinballwiz, I'm dieing to know. How are you always able to post those new results so quickly after Mike has posted his build announcement? :) In the above case your post was just 4 minutes after Mike's. A thought, are you updating your prior list, and automatically leaving any entries from...
