I lost all hope for tourney data after the UI change up front.
In every tournament you could check your standings overall or table by table. They somehow lost the ability to check table by table and it never came back. That's when the descent began for me.

I don't have any of those things so I'll have to wait it out a while. Being broke ain't fun.
On the other hand, I never particularly enjoyed Fish Tales. I'd still like a glimpse at the physics everyone is raving about. The mobile experience has been beyond terrible, but for a variety of...
I remember a Ghostbusters themed table that I wasn't impressed with. I think they re skinned Haunted House. They did another for their new app. Is that the other you are referring to?
If so, you're right. Most definitely.

While the Zen tables are more pleasing to the eye, I've found myself playing TPA much more.
I played a LOT of pinball when I was younger, and the TPA physics are more realistic in many cases.
I've tried Zen on my Android and iPad. There's something wrong with their physics I can't quite put...
I can't argue with this in the least.
A previous post reminded me of the fact that TPA on iOS at least, exists in 3 apps. The original TPA free, the original TPA premium, and the Stern app. If you downloaded tables on the free version of the app and the old "premium" version, you must keep...
I tend to notice the content of the posts more than the names. The pseudonyms are meaningless to me. I'm just tryina have a reasonable discussion. It appeared that along the way you lumped my views in with someone else. I'm not debating the merit of licensing itself, I'm talking about other ways...
I like your analogy to the streaming services. You did a great job including exclusive and non exclusive content.
The specific example I remember ages ago was watching old episodes of family Guy. On one platform they were still censored. On another they weren't. When I inquired, I was told it...
Do you actually bring ideas to the table or just stand back and lob insults?
I'm still kinda new, so I thought I'd ask.

That's a pretty good description. I love pinball Sims, but pinball in real life is vastly different.
For me a big difference is in how I'll lightly nudge a table in real life, and a big nudge will warrant a tilt warning.
Having not played for years, I was surprised at how large the actual...
The corporate mindset doesn't help either. It could be a win/win with Zen publishing tables with all kinds of goodies and challenges and extras while Farsight stuck to simple recreations. They wouldn't even have to follow the same release pattern, and Scientific could still be paid...
That may have changed recently. On a recent play, the table downloaded an update, and the ball didn't seem to drain so quickly on that side. They've been doing some tinkering on the sly. I'm grateful, but details would be nice.

I think my issue with the licensing is this strange need for exclusivity. It feels like it simply comes down to the deal that will bring in the most money to the company contracting the rights to their product.
It so many people feel Zen is superior, there should be no problem with both them...
Sorry for the extra reply. I had to Google.
The original Indiana Jones table was incredible. I dumped a lot of quarters into that.
Stern later made an Indiana Jones themed table.
I'm curious as to how that might muddy the waters, if at all. It's certainly plausible that Zen and TPA could...
I think with their current model, Zen should be able to stick to their no crowdfunding promise. I don't know what sort of income they get from ads, but considering that they are an ongoing source and a table could possibly have a premium unlock price in the for of money, tokens, cash, or...
Seems to me they would have put The Addams Family up front if that were the case.
I admire all of you who are so sure of yourselves in speaking for Zen. Maybe you're right, but knowing what TPA went through to secure the rights to certain tables, if Zen gets them there may be significant...
IIRC, the licencing had less to do with the title names and more to do with obtaining the rights to use the original actors voices.
It's like Shout Factory publishing WKRP on DVD. It had been done before, but most of the music had been replaced. Shout Factory published the series with most of...
I like this idea. It would be in the license holders best interest to let Zen develop their own library and then open Farsight back up.
This lets players choose between game formats, and it also opens access to tables Zen may not publish.
The Addams Family and Terminator were both made...
I don't know what ever became of it, but at one point Farsight reskinned Haunted House with a Ghostbusters theme. I imagine that disappeared when they got to publish the real deal.
