I'll take it. I tried to play again for the first time in a while. I played party zone on Zen and TPA last night.
Watching the ball just sit and die when it made contact with the flipper was one of the reasons it felt like I was playing with a rock. No bounce. No movement. I still think a lot...
Well, we all have our favorites! I think I just don't care for part of the layout. I like the theme, I like the shot placement, but it just doesn't hit a home run for me.
In the arcades, I loved some of the old school EM machines. Overall, the original Indiana Jones table was incredible, as was...
At least he said please.
I saw a Twitter announcement for another TPA tourney. Is there actually a record of standings? So many tourneys seems like a bit much.

I feel like if we were talking about TPA, people would be raking them over the coals. I just have the feeling Zen is out for the money. They'll iron out the details later....
Kinda like TPA and those weird ass bugs.

Bride of Pinbot is an excellent choice.
I was just never a huge fan of Taxi. I liked the theme but the game felt repetitive. They could do some fun stuff with it though.
I only recently saw the layout for Bad Cats and tried a virtual pin. Seems interesting.

Given the effort they've put into added effects, I wonder how far back they would even go. It seems like there are a lot of great tables that wouldn't lend themselves to special effects.
I've noticed TPA is getting much more ad heavy when it comes to playing tables you don't own. I don't mind...
Just emailed them. Got this in response.

By one game, do you mean one table, or one gaming session?
I'm happy with a few plays on a table. I've had ridiculously short games where nothing bounced my way, and amazing games where it all fell into place.
There's no way everyone will be happy. All of this discussion makes me feel bad for...
No doubt! Learning to use those things takes a while, but learning how to hit shots on the same side of the field as the ball is pretty satisfying.

That would be interesting to compare. I've always attributed the TPA play to tables that just didn't sit at much of an angle. Plus, there could have been some restriction in their contract with Williams. (just thinking out loud). With all of the criticism like what you're talking about, it seems...
I didn't realize they were such a rarity. I remember the flippers more than the tables I saw them on. I guess that says something.

A bit off topic, but if someone puts out a table with the option of banana flippers, I'm in. Does anyone else remember those?

The pinball is far from fine. Maybe I don't have enough tickets. Maybe there's some other issue. I really don't know.
What I do know is what I'm seeing are Zen physics but not pinball physics. Shots are predictable and far more accurate up ramps than they should be. The ball "dies" after coming...
Nice post, but you lost me at the end. [emoji23]
If I could actually play a Zen table with real life physics, maybe I'd warm up to it. Instead I'm stuck with the mobile hot mess trying to make me think it's pinball.

The only glimmer of hope I've had is that tournaments returned after an extended absence. They seem to have them regularly, but haven't worked that to their advantage by having long term leaderboards or anything.
Their failure to think outside the box in so many areas has doomed them.

They are certainly not as open as other companies. Their lack of social media presence is pretty astounding.
I have two other favorite game apps and they both keep active forums on Reddit and provide updates regularly.

I've spent more on TPA than all other apps and in app purchases combined. Each table was worth it for me. I didn't buy them all, and there are a few I regret, but I'm glad I did. There are a few on the app that I loved as a kid, and one or two I've grown to really enjoy even though I've never...
