But, but, what about Star Wars? Maybe it's just nostalgia, but it was one of my favorites from when I was younger. I'm sure acquiring the licenses would be quite tough, but that's the Data East game I would love to see the most.
There are some great videos of the tables in the PS3 DLC impressions thread:
http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/1029-PS3-DLC-Impressions
I really like the new look and hope that they replicate in on the 360.
Not sure if anyone's asked this yet, but in watching the videos posted in this thread, I see that there are Challenge and Tournament buttons in the PS3 UI (The 360 doesn't have them). Are these new for the most recent update? What do they do?
What makes you think they negotiated an exclusivity window for DLC#3? The way I see the model going now, at least with the 360, is that it seems as if the main Pinball Arcade client has to be updated to add new tables, but the table packs are authorized separately. When the main client update...
I seriously doubt that Microsoft is basing the release on what's going on with Sony's release dates. If they were and cared they certainly could have sped up the approval process instead of making some convoluted deal with Farsight on the release dates. I just don't see the conspiracy theory here.
I'm going to leave all of your comments alone and state a simple fact here, since that's the way you seem to operate.
Farsight is making a consumer product. Consumer products succeed or fail based on the consumers purchasing or not purchasing them. If you don't like the product, don't buy it...
I could never get my 12 year old to take a break from playing Halo to play some Pinball FX2 with me, but he's actually asked me to play TPA several times, with his favorite table at fist being Black Hole interestingly enough (although I think he's switched to TOM now). Really can't wait to show...
I'd be shocked if Microsoft at least didn't make all content playable on the next machine. The reason they had to emulate backwards compatibility on the 360 was that they didn't own the graphics hardware made for the original XBox so it could not be incorporated into the graphics solution for...
Right, good point Matt. It seems as if they're still doing investigations into what it would take to get different licenses, so it would be great if they went into the next kickstarter with known figures for different tables.
I've dabbled in VP before to try out a few tables from my youth that before Farsight and TPA I never thought had a chance of seeing any kind of commercial digital reproduction. I pretty much play games exclusively on the 360 now, but the idea of a cabinet running a pinball simulator definitely...
I agree completely. There were a lot of comments over on the kickstarter about the lack of console DLC and especially about the lack of TPA on the PC and PS3 (in Europe). Now that there's a release date in Europe for the PS3 and the consoles will (hopefully in the case of the 360) be close to...
Guess this officially shoots down all the conspiracy theorists that said that the reason the PS3 DLC didn't release earlier in the month was that it was held back so the 360 DLC would release earlier or at the same time. That's one (small) positive at least.
Taxi (by a mile for me - one of my favorite tables!)
Whirlwind
No Good Gofers
Pin*Bot
Black Knight (I'd love to see BK2K)
Sorcerer
Firepower
Space Shuttle
I picked it up on the 360 and I'm loving it so far. Incremental improvements over last year's version, but I enjoyed that very much too. Plus from what I've seen so far all of the decks are new and have a lot of the cards from the upcoming M13 set which doesn't come out until mid-July. You...
Mike can correct me if I'm wrong but from what he said, there is only one way to get the updated version of TPA and that is to use the title update. From what he said above (and from what I've experienced with my XBox) it seems that the original executable (main game) is always there and that's...
Thanks for taking the time to create this thread and update us Mike! Very much looking forward to the new tables (and the improvements to the old tables which already look and play great IMO).
Yes, I would definitely be interested in doing this. I plan on buying all tables that come out anyways, so I'd be in essence pre-ordering, but I'd also be helping to make sure that the tables are as bug free as possible on release. Sounds good to me!
