This has become one of my favorite tables. It's addictive and challenging. The alternating lights are mesmerizing. The rule set is pretty straightforward, but certainly not easy. I love tables where it seems like I should easily be able to get a high score, and yet I don't. I guess I'm a...
LOL! Well, I know the new interface has its problems, but I do like the ability to "Favorite" tables. I just wish that could be the default screen when the app launches, rather than having to click through to get to it.
And I just wanted to add that Centigrade 34 is now one of my favorite tables!
While I'm glad to see two 1977 tables added to the mix, I'm surprised that the Mac interface still hasn't gotten overhauled with this update. It's now the only platform (AFAIK) still using the old interface.
Because Windows is prone to so many viruses and malware. By using Parallels or Fusion, you sandbox the OS so that it doesn't cause problems to your Mac. If the Windows virtual machine misbehaves, you just delete it. Most of the virtualizers allow you to save a backup state in case anything...
This has been one of my favorite A.S.K. Homework tables, and I just got it as an award in the Zaccharia lineup! They did a really nice job re-working it. The iOS version (which BTW now launches with a "This app may slow down your iPhone" warning) was initially pretty weak, with almost...
I thought I had triggered something that made them all vanish. But I couldn't find any way to turn the HUD back on. Glad to hear you're working on it. That's a biggie.
I finally got it to work after numerous restarts. This is the only table that has given me problems. Well ... until now. I was just playing Pinball Champ (both versions) and the kicker on the far right lane appears to be dead. It used to work. But now if the ball lands there, that's pretty...
After the recent update, Nautilus is now showing a completely black playfield. The only visible items are the tops of the pop bumpers and the spinner. Everything else is a void. There's some odd banding and flickering on the sides of the cabinet as well. I've included a screen grab.
Many Steam games do transfer over to Steam on Mac, but some do not. TPA does. But don't expect the graphics quality you get on the PC version. If you install Fusion or Parallels to run Windows virtually, however, you can run Steam that way. If you have a Mac with a good graphics chipset and...
That unfortunately is true -- but it shouldn't be. The DMD on the Mac version is rendered too high by several pixels, cutting off its top. It's been that way for several versions. When it's drawn properly, it works just fine in place of the extra DMD.
I play Fireball a lot (one of my favorite tables), and I just happened to notice an interesting difference between the PC/Steam version compared with the Apple (iOS/Mac) versions: when I have more than one ball in play and shoot a ball into Wotan (the right lane) and it rolls back to the...
I can vouch for the fact that the slowdown problem has NOT gone away. And I guess there's no love for the Mac version; I just updated to the TPA version 6.4.0 and it's still the same old interface, not the iOS or Steam version.
From what I've read, Metal is more akin to Direct3D. You can read more about it here:
https://developer.apple.com/metal/
Metal does have a lighting component to it which has to be specifically coded into the game. Since Metal works on both iOS and Mac, optimized games should perform nearly...
The real Black Knight is one of my all-time favorite tables. The TPA implementation, though, is poor and Farsight seems to have little interest in improving it.
It has one of the weirdest themes ever created. Let's see ... how would I describe it? A country-western/cowboy/Dirty Harry pool table with video games? And a moose? I played it with Microsoft's original Pinball Arcade software and I didn't get it then. I still don't get it, but it makes me...
