    First Impressions

I really like this table too. I have to restrain my tendency to trap the ball, because that usually results in it rolling up to the gap in the outlane. The wimpy slingshots also surprised me. I find it a real challenge to make the target combinations. I can see where being able to trap the...

    Zaccaria rubber ball

Same here. I've already lost several other games due to not being updated. But oddly, there are some games I've had since my first iPhone (the 3G) that still run fine. So I assume it's possible to code a game in such a way that it keeps on running. I just wish I had kept the previous...

    Observation(s) on TPA 6.9.0

The old UI wasn't bad. It was quirky, occasionally getting stuck during scrolling through the tables. What I like about the new interface (especially on Steam) is being able to Favorite the tables I play a lot. Then I don't have to scroll through dozens of tables.

    Zaccaria rubber ball

I always get the message "Age of Pinballs may slow down your iPhone". Of course, it doesn't and runs fine. But the last modifications ASK Homework made to the game have messed it up. The ball graphics are screwy, with the ball "ghosting" and appearing visible through solid objects. Plus, the...

    Now we need the Comet!

I think that's why I'm attracted to it over the other tables. Cyclone and Hurricane were built on gimmicks and IMO seem cluttered. Comet just has a wide open table with fast gameplay and nice theming. Bring it on!

    Zaccaria rubber ball

I figured it out. It's counter-intuitive. I set the Ball Elasticity to 100%, the Friction to 0% and the Slingshot Sensitivity to 100%. Now it's playing much more realistically.

    Zaccaria rubber ball

I played around with the physics settings some more. I turned the ball friction to 100%, the ball elasticity and velocity to 0%, and the slingshot force and sensitivity down to 0%. That helped a little but caused some anomalies. For instance, the ball will now enter a spinner gate and then...

    Zaccaria rubber ball

The latest update (mid-February) changed the ball's physics settings somehow, and now it's behaving as if it's made of rubber -- flying all over the table and bouncing almost uncontrollably between slingshots and bumpers. I tried playing with the physics settings to calm down the behavior, but...

    Hippie

I finally got the Hippie table unlocked. I like the improvements from the previous ASK Homework version. The flipper at the upper left is useful. In general, I've been happy with Aliens and Mummy as well. The "real" drop targets make a big difference in the feel of the tables. My favorite...

    Glitch in Zaccharia update #36

Here are some screenshots of what the problem looks like. Note that the leaderboards aren't accessible when this happens.

    SO76 on Microsoft Pinball

I really like Microsoft Pinball Arcade and still play it. Although the graphics and physics obviously aren't as advanced as some current offerings, it's still fun. And for a twenty-year-old game, it's still pretty impressive. And it still has the only digital Slick Chick (that I know of)...

    Glitch in Zaccharia update #36

It's an intermittent bug: the score readouts occasionally come up blank (along with no ranking readout at the bottom left). The tables will work fine for a while when I launch Zaccharia, but once one table loses the readout, all other tables lose them as well. The graphic for the score readout...

New Mac version in the works?

That's a shame. Since I'm running the PC version emulated, my Mac would certainly have enough horsepower for better graphics. But I guess it's not going to happen.

New Mac version in the works?

Just checking back in on this. It's now been six months, yet there's been no update. It's interesting that when I play TPA on my PC's Steam account, it has the updated interface and looks (and plays) great -- even though the PC is running emulated on my Mac. But when I play the same native...

    RAM Allotment

The only time I remember this being done was on old 386 PCs with MS-DOS, where you could allocate RAM. Modern Macs seem to handle memory allocation pretty well. It's more helpful to simply have more RAM in your computer, period. Currently, 8 gb is the minimum.

    Frame rates on latest update

The new update (as of 12/17) has fixed the frame rate issue! Hooray!

    Table pack 56

Also of note: that dang slow-down is still present.

Request 100000 Lamp, Credit meter, knocker

I've had three old EMs and all of them had knockers, located below the plunger inside the cabinet. They were all Bally machines, though, so maybe it varied based on the manufacturer.

    Frame rates on latest update

The latest Steam update has caused terrible frame rates. Frames are dropping even on the table views. Playing is now very difficult. I'm not sure what caused that. Up till now, the game played beautifully.

    Reward Tables

The way I've been playing ZP in my spare time is to tackle a row of games at a time. So I start at the upper left of the menu and I play one table after another. I stop for the day when I reach the end of that row. The next time, I tackle the next row. As you implied, nudnick, I don't play...
