Man we don't get record shops like this in France.
I recommend you watch the whole video from the beginning. After a couple of minutes or so there is something quite special..... Be patient ;)
I set aside some time this evening to setup the new cam mod with positional DMD. What a piece of cake. All done in about 20 mins! Couldn't be simpler. I like how you can setup one DMD and save the position, and then copy these as the defaults for the others.
Thanks again. :)
Just a quick thanks to NoEx and Robert for all their work on the new Cab Mod release. I can't try it until next weekend but am looking forward to playing with the movable DMD. I appreciate it must have been a ton of work, so thanks again!
I should have looked for the clue in the name ;) - actually I thought they added a 4-core later on but might be mistaken. That reminds me I need to get another surge block for the cabinet as had to remove the old one as it kept cutting out. :)
Right that might be it. How many cores - I think some had 4? As I said earlier I can see VP utilising 4 at a time and I have 8 with HT switched on so maybe by spreading the load it helps. Something maybe to try is using b2s as an EXE and force it to one core. Then force VP to the remaining...
Hi Robert
I had a GTX480 (which is similar in performance to a 750 ti). I used to set the VP AA off and Amb Occlusion off and with nVidia FXAA set ON and I was I getting around 200fps on a heavy hitting tables using b2s too. I tended to limit frames to 120 to get smooth play. I never turned...
The TPA live catches are ridiculously unrealistic. I perform more in 10 mins in TPA than I have in my whole life on a real table. I appreciate they maybe hard to implement but for them to keep happening without trying is crazy. For that reason VPX/Physmod physics still reign as supreme. Some...
I set all this up as soon as they introduced it but haven't fired it up since. If only they would introduce realistic physics, a proper looking pinball (ie: not glowing and larger in size) then I might play it, but as it is now it's like someone put superglue on the flippers. Such a shame.
Just noticed on their website that their offices are located in the Cotswold countryside in England. That area is rife with great pubs, so they probably are down the juicer most afternoons. :p
In other words a well-tuned VP table (and there are 100s) plays much closer to the real thing than any TPA table. ;). Farsight can do something about that, but they don't seem to want to.
It is true that their updates do list a lot of weekly tasks and obviously they are working on multiple platforms so it will take time. They said a lot of code is re-usable across platforms but I get the impression for each platform they are extending their toolset and the way they handle...
Having been lucky enough to get the Alpha build 18 months ago I can say it was awesome and close to being finished even then (but with one view). The thing is though now things have moved on... TPA with DX11, VP10, Unity3D so although PP TS still stands out in the crowd it is still only one...
It will be interesting if NoEx can pull off the floatable DMD without the stretched DMD showing. I actually thought we would still have the stretched DMD because it needed to be visible to be mirrored to the draggable window. Even if we still end up with the two DMDs it will still be awesome.
