One of the nice things about this forum is the folk who know the history of these companies.
So it sounds like we could see more of these classic machines from Gottlieb and Stern Electronics if Farsight so desires. I have to think that they took a back seat to the perception that the higher...
I really hope we see some more classic Sterns. Flight 2000 is a great table. At the UK Pinfest I got to play Sea Witch and that really needs to be in TPA. The loss of the WMS license bites, but they have access to some great machines with the licenses they do have so here’s hoping they don’t...
I’ll hold judgement on this new app, but I am definitely not into starting out repurchasing the tables I already have on two platforms whatever their physics engine is like. If they do a bunch of unreleased EMs and early SS tables I’m all in though!
So I’ve got the new patch (1.28?) and I bought Stern table pack 1, because it seems like basically the same price as buying Star Trek and AC/DC separately, and that worked fine, however I purchased the standalone Mustang in the store (not available from the app itself) and the purchase went...
I know that, but does this mean no dice on the license because Disney can’t be bothered to negotiate over this kind of thing or does Lucasfilm still have a free hand for licensing?
So tables are £10 now? I mean that’s double the price of the last release, but I guess that means I’m not double-purchasing anything. Of course I think it’s a bit weak to charge one-for-one dollars to pounds even with a weak currency. Gotta mull this one over...
I have to say I was surprised to see the new tables added to packs of tables I already own, but asking full whack for the pack. That doesn’t seem right. Glad I made a point to save my game data remotely given the last couple updates blew away my table goals!
I can only assume the same won’t be...
This is why IP law is bull****: you can just own rights to content and refuse to release it - because you’re greedy or just don’t care. There should be a system to appeal and force the leveraging of those rights or lose them in cases like this, where you’re talking about preserving heritage. I'm...
I don’t know if this is only true in Europe, but I traded in my second-hand PS3 for a second-hand PS4 last year and naturally downloaded The Pinball Arcade. Initially I just bought seasons 1&2, but recently had a small windfall and bought the rest. I note that with seasons 4-6 all the tables...
I guess I feel vindicated in buying all the seasons again on PS4, but this sucks. That’s the risk with licensed property though. So has WMS sold the license elsewhere? Zen would seem to be the most likely candidate to me, though I have to think they’d launch a new app.
I’d like to think...
After seeing the new update didn’t magically restore my table goals I decided to restore save data from remote and that seems to have sorted it. If you haven’t been using the save data function in the past, well, you might be out of luck.
Let me third that. I can live without Ace High, but Sorcerer is the MIA table from a previous console release I miss the most. Just that great loud and annoying style that reminds me of Space Shuttle. Something about a solid state table that assaults you sonically that I really dig.
Looks as good as the "spooky" Gottliebs of late. Just when I thought nothing could top Class of 1812 along came Bone Busters. It's like Gottlieb binned the art budget in the 80s!
iPad Air 2 is my main platform and I stopped buying every table once they started selling them standalone. There's a few I own that I wouldn't purchase as standalone tables (Class of 1812 springs to mind for some reason as does another awful Premiere table, Ready, Set Action or whatever it's...
5th - stomped the early solid state machines, Gold at last! One gripe is that the early SS tables don't seem to register high scores, so that's two times I've beat my last Wizard goal on Firepower: beating 750k. First time I did it I hadn't finished the standard goals so it didn't count...
