Regular readers of this blog know that the RBION on location at Third Rail Bar & Grill (where I play in league) is particularly evil and often confines even world-class players to seven-digit scores. Part of this is due to its blinding LED package; it's often hard to see what's going on...

Rudeness is what happens when you put up 47.8M on X-Men LE (a machine I do not care for but force myself to practice because it's one of the league games this season), thereby squeaking onto the high score list, and less than two hours later get knocked back off the same list by a visiting...

...is no more! After two previously unsuccessful attempts to complete "Destroy the Ring" on Lord of the Rings were thwarted on the final shot by airballs off the Palantir target (as recounted in Destroy the...GOD @#$%! IT!), I'm happy to report that the Ring was thrown into the Crack of Doom...

I'm flailing around after league yesterday (an average performance, although one plagued by mechanical failures: X-Men's flippers died on me mid-multiball and another player got shafted by AC/DC failing to return a ball it should have) on Dracula, and have a pretty mediocre first two balls, only...

While I'm sure the table will still hand me abysmal games whenever it feels like it, I'm pleased to announce that a personal quest of mine in the real pinball world has come to an end. I accept The Twilight Zone's surrender.

So I find myself tonight in the unprecedented and totally unexpected position of leading my league. This won't last long - there are too many players here whose skill greatly exceeds my own, as demonstrated last time around - but it's a nice way to start off the season. :D What we're playing...

Pretty abysmal games this evening, with one exception early on...I've managed to successfully complete "Do or Die" on an Iron Man with Hard settings, and shattered my personal best six and a half times over, going from 12M to 78M! Do or Die requires that you complete the following on one ball...

On the non-league front, starting ST:TNG's Final Frontier mode is much more interesting with a set of artifacts collected (which in addition to the 100M bonus for each artifact gives a 1 billion point payoff for the set). High score advanced from 2.4B to a touch below 4.2B. Thank you Mr. Data...

Blast those Martians! Congratulations to Carlin Reed for scoring 8 billion points on a single ball tonight on Attack from Mars at CP Pinball! Truly unbelievable unless you were there...
