People have said the same about the other tables as well. Just because you don't care for Sea Witch doesn't mean you have to be a jerk about it. And for all you know, Sea Witch might not even be winning, so just chill. Regardless of what wins, I'm just thankful we have this opportunity to vote in the first place and they're all good tables in their own way.

And as for your American comment, that's a rude generalization and totally uncalled for.

I agree with you about the thankfulness of opportunity to vote.. I,and others, are passionate abou their votes but in the end we will get a new table so that's good. I am American and I feel that attittde is pervasive in our culture. I didn't mean to offend.

on the subject of IPDB ratings and general number ratings in reviews: IGNORE THE NUMBAZ

read wht the reviewer says and analyze it.. numbers are so incredibly arbitrary and have no value in conveying concepts and/or ideas.

to be honest, reviews are arbitrary too... sure, it depends how the author argues over / proves his point(s), but in the end its just an opinion, no matter how articulated or 'scientific' it may all seem... you know, different strokes for different folks and whatever floats your boat... but thats just my opinion, what do i know :)

that's why you analyze and/or critically read the review to help you determine whether or not you agree.

and if you wana go down the "reviewsare arbitrary too" route you can also go down the "everything is arbitrary" route... both are lame

That has always been my sentiment, whatever they release, I buy. But when they put my all time favorite up against inferior competition, (notice the IPDB professional scoring, only Meteor coming close), I will voice my displeasure by holding off on the pack, if Flight 2000 isn't included. I will eventually purchase it, just not until after the right has been wronged, and Flight 2000 has been released. Simple. My way of showing my disdain for the other tables.

IPDB ratings are open to anyone who wishes to register. They are obviously colored by the machines that people have had the opportunity to play. They are further colored by the availability of virtual play. You have an interesting concept of the word "close". Personally, I have "disdain" for very few pinball tables.

FarSight doesn't have the luxury of completely ignoring popularity, but they can use a poll to gauge the preferences of their most engaged customers. I don't think it is too big of a leap to presume that people willing to post (and vote) in this forum are more likely to buy (or at least consider) each table pack as it appears. At the end of the day, the poll winner may be delayed due to difficulty in obtaining a physical machine or for any of several other possible reasons. Like most here, I'll be tickled to see any one (or several) classic Sterns made available.

I have only played one of those so I voted for that one. I'd like to play it in TPA and relive a bit of my childhood. Is that arbitrary?

I voted for catacomb. Great to see far sight continuing to recreate all kinds of tables. Between this and the green-light, things are looking up for pinball arcade.

Everyone that disagrees with me is wrong, and everyone that agrees with me is right. There, that settles it..

I'm surprised there's not more talk about Meteor, how can people resist all of those drop targets?
