UPDATE The final bio features non other than Medieval Madness artist, John Youssi (artwork designer).

From Jokerz! to Ripley's Believe It or Not!, John Youssi has been creating original and inventive artwork for pinball games for more than 20 years.

Youssi is one of the most prolific artists in modern pinball. Working closely throughout the last 20 year with Pat Lawlor, widely considered to be the Godfather of pinball, creating the artwork for some of Williams' most famous games from the late 1980's up through 1999's Revenge from Mars. He was selected by Williams to work on the tables after being impressed by his previous work on projects with Lawlor, including his debut table Whirlwind.

Youssi's work continued his work with Lawlor at Stern, where he and the team at Pat Lawlor Designs created some of the most famous modern pinball machines, notably Monopoly, RollerCoaster Tycoon, Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Grand Prix, NASCAR and Family Guy.

Youssi is has also, throughout his successful career designed artwork for music packaging, promotional material and merchandise, and his work for food and drinks packaging, for brands such as Yoplait, are widely known around the globe.

Youssi's pinball portfolio is arguably the greatest in the world and contains designs for all of the follwoing tables; Jokerz!, Police Force, Whirlwind, Radical!, Funhouse, The Machine: Bride of Pin•bot, Gilligan's Island, Hurricane, The Addams Family, White Water, Twilight Zone, Popeye Saves the Earth, Red & Ted's Road Show, The Addams Family Special Collectors Edition, Johnny Mnemonic, Jack•Bot, Safe Cracker, Medieval Madness, No Good Gofers, Cactus Canyon, Revenge From Mars, Sharkey's Shootout, High Roller Casino, Monopoly, RollerCoaster Tycoon, Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Grand Prix, NASCAR, and Family Guy.

Youssi, maintaining his working relationship with Lawlor, is now set to turn his hand to designing a brand new table for the legendary Pro Pinball® series as a Kickstarter project is launched by Lawlor and pinball games experts Silverball Studios. The project promises a revival of the games, designed by Lawlor, illustrated by Youssi and produced by Silverball.

Thanks for the questions you all posted and sent to me for Adrian Barritt and Pat Lawlor. I will be submitting your questions shortly and hope to have the answers posted within the next day or two.

Hey PW, do you mind if I steal part (or all) of your OP in this thread to post on another forum? Obviously I'll be giving credit, linking here and not claiming any of it as my own, but I don't see how I could make anything that comes close to doing the game justice as yours does.

If not, that's cool. Just trying to spread the word :)

Help yourself and thanks for helping to spread the word on Silverball Studios' revival project.

Rob your friends. Cheat on your taxes. Take on an extra loan on your house and make this happen. All you need is pinball :D This looks very promising indeed. Come Monday, I'm ready :p

That tech demo is absolutely stunning, I had no idea such lighting was even remotely possible with prerendered graphics. It looks very realistic, and it´s even more impressive considering it´s running on an iPad, which, to be fair, has quite some graphical power for a device with what is basically a smartphone chip, but man, wow... I guess that answers my question about prerendered VS polygonal I posted earlier ;)

I just asked them on Facebook if they would consider putting this exact demo on iOS. I would imagine that this could potentially lead to a much bigger interest in the project. I mean, it looks insane. I want to fiddle these knobs and flash these flashers myself, damnit!

By the way, sounds like cows mooing in the background. Maybe Brian Eddy is the secret surprise teammember ;)

@mmmagnetic that could be a great update on a slow day for the kickstarter :) Man, I'm so scared of that sum 400 000. Is it possible that a digital pinball game can gain that kind of a following today? I really really Fu...ing hope so! This will be a nerve wrecker of epic proportions. Spread the word and keep the faith in Pinball!!

The lighting and graphics in the tech demo look good, but I'm much more interested in the physics, though I'm sure they'll reveal that later.
The fact they have something already (and said they'd reveal more as the kickstarter gets more successful) makes me think they have contingent plans should they fail to get the 400K.

Exactly, this Kickstarter is making me much more nervous than I thought it would. I mean, if a Farsight KS fails, at least we still have the regular table DLC... But this one is pretty much all-or-nothing. I hope they promote this thing well.

Does anybody know: If a Kickstarter project doesn´t make it, can you just set up the same one again, just with a lower goal? I would think they have some sort of waiting period on that.

By the way, light sliders for TPA sound great too :)

Yeah, I hope so. No way they should let something like this demo just rot away on a shelf.

Has anybody ever seen something similar? I know they use similar kind of lighting tech demos for big graphic cards, but this here is a very clever way to code around the limitations of the iPad. And I´m certainly no expert, but maybe this prerendered engine still leaves a lot of room for the physics engine? Trying to do a similar thing with polygons on the iPad would eat through the resources like crazy, and probably not look even half as good.

Reminds me a bit of how the german developer Shin'en used prerendered video to produce fantastic graphics on the Gameboy Advance.

I just couldn't resist posting this, but is it just me or would a partnership between Silverball and FarSight be an unstoppable force that would rule the virtual pinball world? Pro Pinball Arcade for next gen platforms anyone?
