Why would they? When she did the voice work for MM, nobody in the world knew who she was. Her involvement likely isn't any different than any voice artist who worked on that or any other table. As long as they have the rights to the table, they likely had the rights to her voice. She can't renegotiate a contract because she became famous years after the fact.

If it's a recorded sample, voice over, etc. from an established celebrity who had their own contract involved, then there's extra licensing involved. I can't imagine Tina Fey in 1997 (or whenever) had any kind of specialized deal doing voice work for a pinball table.

Being an "established celebrity" or not has nothing to do with the licensing involved for FarSight.
It's all about the exact wording in the contract that Tina Fey (or any other voice artist) signed when she did the voice work.

If it was just for the use in that specific pinball machine, making a virtual version of the machine may require getting the rights to use the recorded performance in a new/different medium.
If the rights were acquired for the pinball machine and any-and-all derivitive and future uses, then the right to use that voice performance would be included in the licensing of the specific machine from the original manufacturer.

None of us here knows the contents of the contract signed, so the speculation is completely and totally pointless.

I have pointed the game, and kickstarter, out to Scott Johnson from frogpants studios, a podcaster with a reasonable following on several podcasts, including a few game ones. It's not on the level of ign or giantbomb, but he has a dedicated audience and he has a history in arcades (his dad owned one), retrogaming and pinball (he kept raving about his recent visit to PHOF on his trip to Las Vegas), so here's hoping.

by guess would be the powerball or something like that
The Powerball's kinda boring visually - it's just a white ceramic ball. (Of course, in actual play, the Powerball is anything but boring!)

I'll guess the black-and-white "Spiral" design wrapped around the ball with the TZ logo on one side.

EDIT: And we're now halfway home on the $55K! Good work, everyone!

FYI...For those of you who pledged more than $25 or $50 before those two tiers were added and selected the $10 reward, you can go into "manage your pledge" and change your reward by selecting one of the new tiers.

I'm curious about the $100 reward. Its the only one that doesn't say "Everything above plus..." but I'm thinking its just an oversight.

That's almost certainly an oversight. The $100 tier reward is a "special" TZ table for every platform (except 360), and the $10 tier is a "normal" TZ for one platform (except 360). Hence the $100 tier didn't need to include everything above because its own reward included it by its very nature...until the $25 and $50 tiers were announced.

Probably should be changed now, if for no other reason than for clarity.

The update for the $25 tier says anyone who pledges $25 or more will get the custom ball, and the $50 tier says anyone at $50 or more gets the wallpaper and tournament entry (which was already mentioned in $100 tier description anyway).

Right, so the $100 reward should really say that you'll get all of the above so that you'll know that you'd get the custom ball and wallpaper. As it stands now the $100 reward only lists the table with the operator's option menu. They probably don't want to say that you would get the $10 level but they should make it clear that you'd get the $25 and $50 rewards.

If you pledge $100, why wouldn't you get the $10 reward. I know with the $100 tier you get a special version of The Twilight Zone on all platforms and devices (except Xbox 360, but I'm currently working on that), but what if I wanted to give the code for the regular version to a friend to entice him/her to purchase The Pinball Arcade? If you pledge $100 or more, you should get the $10 reward as well since you get everything else below the $100 tier.

I guess that's why I'd like to see them update the description...so there's no guessing or assuming.

I just pledged my $50.00. I have never played this table either in real life or in any virtual form, however, I believe supporting this effort is important as I receive a lot of joy from playing The Pinball Arcade both at home on my PS3 and on the go on my PS Vita. I used to to watch the Twilight Zone on a black and white TV back in the day and it was one of my favorite shows, right next to Star Trek, the original series ... so sure, I want to play this table and any Star Trek table you throw at me (but would like the original Star Trek pinball table the most).

WE HAVE ALL HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENTER INTO THE TWILIGHT ZONE! ITS 2012 AND WE ARE EJOYING PINBALL TABLES BECAUSE THE PINBALL ARCADE HAS TRASPORTED US TO ANOTHER DIMENSION, TO A VIRTUAL WORLD WERE WE CAN BRUSH SHOULDERS WITH MEMORIES OF PINBALL PAST AND WHERE NEWER GENERATIONS CAN EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF PINBALL FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME .... MAY THE PINBALL ARCADE "LIVE LONG AND PROSPER"

Hello all, I have lurked for a little while.. I also have donated $50.00 to the cause.. I would also love to see ST-TNG, DRWHO, Adams, Family Guy. I'm very happy we as a pinball fan base is pulling together to try to get this Table done!
