Only if it was required for you to purchase it as a work expense that was not reimbursable. In which case it could fall under "research" if you were a videogame designer/programmer or pinball repairman. Beyond that it would definitely not be.

I think its going to be a grind for the next 3 weeks. :(

Why is that? I actually think it's moving at a reasonable pace and the $55,000 target should be reached before the end of next week. That'll leave two more weeks to reach the $110,000 goal for Star Trek : The Next Generation. All FarSight has to do is get another video ready to promote the Star Trek table to draw in even more people to pledge.

Yeah, I'm confident now that we will make our goal for TZ at least... good enough. Star Trek can be a battle for another time.

We're in the trough. This is pretty normal for these types of projects after the initial burst of enthusiasm passes.

Actually, TZ is doing very well, even an average as low as $825 a day for the rest of the time would be enough to fund the table, and that's not counting the typical last-day surge. And it's entirely possible that another two or three $500 or $1000 pledges come in. (One just came in for $500, it looks like.)

There is absolutely no reason to panic at this point.

I hope you're right. Looking at the graph at kicktraq its hard to tell if the trend is going to be linear or if it is turning into a curve with less and less donated each day. I think they will still make the goal either way. I'd really like to get Star Trek so I do hope the line stays linear!

I think that this post hits it right on the head. Odds are we should be able to clear the goal, but I don't think it will be by much and certainly not enough to fund another table, but in the end we still do get TZ.

Many people have mentioned about increasing their commitment level not to mention a good deal of people that have had to wait to assess financial situations before contributing. Most people get paychecks on Thursdays or Fridays so perhaps there will be a nice uptick around then. Plus there is a lot of good word of mouth starting to happen with various websites and such. We will have to see how that affects everything but it should bring a nice consistent stream of donors.

why should they wait for a paycheck? the money is not taken in until the kickstarter has finished sucessfully. so it doesn't matter if i pledge today or 1 second before it finishes...

There will be 1000's of new fans when Pinball Arcade finally hits the European PSN Store, although god knows how far away that might be.
