That is an insane number. Even I'm only at 1200, and something like a third of that is overnight pauses. Youmust leave TPA running but idle a helluva lot, right?
Hell, the PC version only came out about 850 days ago. You've averaged six hours every single day since release?!
Slam, I still can't believe you do all those high scores and long sessions on an iPad. Come to the PC side. We have comfortable seating positions, sharper controls, and big screens. I don't get any injuries or physical fatigue from TPA.
I'll repeat my most important tip from the strategy forum: Ignore Comet, shoot Cyclone.
The million is tempting, but follow this logic. They score equal amounts per shot if you make everything: 20k+40k+60k+80k+100k+million for 6 Comet shots = 50k+100k+500k jackpot for 3 Cyclone shots.
Cyclone...
This table does that. I had the same thing, had a certain score level that seemed about as well as I could do... then suddenly had that one perfect miracle rush of a game winning tons of cash fights that more than doubled that previous score.
The tipping point for me was somehow figuring out...
Same here. I was giving tips for those who are still chasing UC as a wizard goal.
For aiming high on the leaderboard, yes, UC isn't worth enough to matter, don't waste smart punches, just let it fail.
Ultimate Challenge: Yes, there is a bug that kills UC and all modes for the rest of the ball if you KO during UC, so don't do that.
The best way to win UC is to accumulate as many smart punches as you possibly can. Every skill shot, and you also get one by hitting the launch button when you...
Yes, understanding the rule set is crucial and it's not always intuitive from the rulesheet and instructions. Here's a quick explanation of the toughest point in KOs.
The first KO you do in a game requires jab-jab-KO. The second KO requires jab-jab-jab-KO. And so on, each KO requires one...
There's lots of subtle moves you can do with the mini-flipper to deaden the ball and get control on the right main flipper. Hard to describe though. The simple one is on any right ramp feed, hold the mini-flipper and release it just after the ball touches it, and you'll get a catch.
Eldar is right. You need to nuke all 5 planets at once. Which means to never start any nuke multiball until you've completed the bugs on all 5 planets through Planet P. The goal worked for me, pretty sure it functions fine in TPA.
You're allowed to use the Spot Species / Spot Planet recon...
That's not how you do it. Not the exact same time. First shoot Drac from the right, then a half-second later the right ramp from the left. It takes a half-second for the ball to enter and eject from Drac, so they'll cross over up top at the same time.
The crossover bonus is fun, but not...
Ok I tried it. Yeah, it seems you guys are right, that rebound isn't reliable on the current PC version. The ball almost always goes up the lane into the bumpers. There's one exception: a square hit to the E target while the bottom drop is already down will see the ball hit the bottom edge of...
From this thread, I'm starting to suspect that the reliable TLE -> drop ricochet happened only with older physics, which were on PC at the time I played and on Android now, but doesn't work on the PC now. I'll try to remember to try it out after work tonight.
This is absolutely correct. This is so so so important. This is how you enable that airlock gate without the risk of losing the ball from the bumpers into the outlane.
Although it doesn't really need mastering, the shot happens easily. It just takes the discipline to remember to do that...
Well, you could test it on a real machine by taking the glass off. Medieval Madness can score hundreds of billions by stacking hundreds of hurryups before hitting the castle.
Didn't know about Fish Tales, so yeah add that to the list of tables with known limits. As Tarek said, that has to be...
I believe this is true. I know of no counterexamples. (Presumably the rollover variable itself has to have some limit, probably a 32-bit int, but nobody's going to roll a table 4 billion times in one game. That would be a score of 40,000,000,000,000,000,000 on CFTBL.)
In fact, the only...
Can't see the flashing lights, can't hear the bells... hi there Tommy :)
I haven't played CC in a while, but I think I remember going for the combos mostly as right ramp -> left ramp, and also -> orbit when the orbit shot towards Stampede isn't yet completed so the ball will stop in the...
A trillion or two on CFTBL is perfectly possible. Just make the KISS shot 16 times per ball to go infinite, and then any score is inevitable with enough time. My 270B was about six hours, so that's perfectly on pace for Tarek's estimation of 2 trillion in four days (say 12 hours per day.)
I...
Farsight's got the ability and expertise to make at least small ROM modifications. If you've built an entire emulation engine, you're going to be able to work inside the ROM that much.
But that doesn't mean it would be at all feasible to code a whole new game or expand an existing one that...
