Yes, you read that right in the title...
So I decided to give this game another spin but this time on my Vita. (After experiencing the game ending glitch on the PS3 too many times)
I get the first party punch EB. Then, I'm working the ramp for the second one, and right after the 225,000 shot...
This statement here is why we DO gripe about these things. Farsight set lofty goals for these games... and they HAVE succeeded with many (let's not forget that).. but it makes things like this BK debacle stick out all that much more.
That also confirms that the EOB bonus was as I remembered it, cycling through once per bonus multiplier. On TPA it just cycles once quickly and automatically calculates the multiplier. Really takes the coolness factor of it down a notch.
I'm personally at around 75% success rate with that shot, so although I considered that, I decided to side with the OP as far as there being bigger fish to fry. Just my preference. If I had 100% confidence in that shot all the time, maybe I'd do it... but I'd much rather move on to getting the...
Okay, I was bored today, so I did this. This ball came from the lock eject. This shot is EARLIER than the Rudy shot. I slowed it down to 25% speed and looped it a few times. Watch as the ball ricochets off the target to the right of the steps ramp. This was done on the PS3. It works the same on...
Advanced Tips (aka, Point-Mongering Edition)
First, again, great writeup by the OP. It does a good job explaining all the features, what should be focused on, and good general strategy.
I'll share a few more critical tips now that I've had my end-all be-all game and I'll be moving on to...
"Voice of descent"...
Heh... sorry, couldn't resist... call me a grammar/spelling nazi, but when I see something like that, I sort of tend to not take the rest of the post so seriously.
When I said "nudging/tilting does nothing", I didn't mean my game won't tilt. It does. It just doesn't get the game out of the limbo state. I'm just staring at "TILT" on the screen, and still all I can do is quit.
I'm actually pretty convinced now, after carefully observing this, that the ball actually travels backwards through the trap door lane. It still should not happen, but I'm not sure this qualifies as a true bug.
Just read all that. Wish I could say EXACTLY how it happens, but I can say a couple things about FH:
- It seems to happen mostly during multiball (quick or midnight)
- One of the "holes" in the table is Rudy: sometimes I see a shot going into Rudy's mouth, but it takes a sharp upward hop off of...
Please improve "Call Attendant" logic-- it ruins games (suggestion included)
I just had another huge game ruined by this. It's happened on BOP, EATPM, and now Funhouse (450 Million+ game down the tubes). In all cases, it's the same:
One ball somehow, somewhere either gets stuck somewhere or...
When the shot works, it actually ricochets off something and into the trap door. I often hit rudy when trying it. The shot has to be a millisecond before that.
I've wondered if what actually happens is the ball somehow finds its way onto the cellar ramp. But I don't think so. It always takes me by surprise and happens so fast.
I've seen this a few times and meant to report it... sometimes when you hit the gangway from the left, instead of it coming down to the jet bumpers on the right, it actually follows the path of the rail from the steps ramp (passing through every physical object on the way). Then it bonks off the...
http://www.pinballmap.com/ is good if they cover your area. There is apparently an AFM near me, and I'm going to find some time to go check it out.
I used to play pinball almost religiously, in that heyday of the 80s and 90s when the arcade crash happened and then the video game market shifted...
