If you change an option and then return to the main menu, it will force a save. Does that put anything into the log?

Does your Log.txt say anything about loading/saving failing? It is typically located in this folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\PinballArcade\"

User data is typically located in: "C:\Users\<username>\My Games\Pinball Arcade\" Is it possible that these files were either moved or deleted?

You're telling me you can't read the text on a flyer that's 64x32 pixels?! Kidding. I've asked about getting higher resolution flyers.

Does the issue go away when you put five+ fingers on the screen? If so, it's a software issue. Sometimes the engine thinks there's a touch when there really isn't and it causes a similar phenomenon.

If you've made purchases on both the free and the paid version, you'll have to restore the purchases via the appropriate version. Not sure if this applies to your situation though.
