Technically speaking PS4 specs are about on par with top of the line PC models two years ago, so he's not too far off on the average statement I think. Although if you include laptops it's probably not accurate.
I can practically guarantee to you that the DX9 version we have now will be an option even after the new stuff rolls in. No company is going to alienate a large percentage of their playerbase by cutting off hardware that's still relatively commonly in use. I'm pretty sure someone from Farsight...
I looked at it and it's pretty hard to tell but it looks like it actually went out the correct way after a bounce from the plunger rail. The plunger camera change probably happened because it got too close to the plunger area during the drain.
I think the flipper strength actually doesn't seem that far off for a brand new table. People are used to tables that aren't perfectly maintained and the flipper coils going/dirty playfield are probably about the most common problems. I haven't managed to find an actual machine to play for years...
I really like that writeup a lot. I somehow missed the discussions at the time, but it pretty much mirrors what I think. Consider a table like TZ. On a real table even thinking about doing stuff like chaining multiple lost in the zones for score would be totally laughable for pretty much anyone...
I agree. I also think some tables are challenging that were listed as easy. It's just the OP's subjective opinion on tables, and shouldn't be taken as objective fact, nor do I think it was meant to be. It just segued into general discussion about table difficulty and possible settings to change...
They definitely should have tried to recruit people interested in tracking down bugs instead of selling it off in my opinion, but I guess it's too late now. Oh well.
I can kind of understand this but it really doesn't change much at all. Most tables that actually reward an extra ball for a replay dole out extra balls like crazy anyway so it makes barely any difference. The tables where extra balls are actually rare and hard to get already don't give extra...
I haven't noticed any ball physics differences between PS3 and PC apart from small physics improvements in a couple specific spots on a few tables. The general movement seems identical.
I don't really see the benefit to that compared to the difficulty in making it. I mean purely from a player's perspective on a real pinball table staged flippers will also be just different pressure percentages. You don't think about coils and whatnot when doing that, you just ease up a bit to...

Farsight has stated several times over the past few years that the tables are adjusted to be easier than the real world counterparts intentionally. I'm guessing it's to prevent first time players from getting immediately frustrated and generate good word of mouth for the masses. I can't really...
I sort of agree on the others but TotAN is in my opinion extremely brutal. The wizard mode is very easy to get to yeah, but the table is almost impossible to control. You can get scores up to a point but keeping the game going for extended periods is nearly impossible, which is the main problem...
Something definitely got borked, because the minimum and maximum nudge amount is seemingly the same currently. It gives a hard shove no matter how little you try to nudge.
I'm happy you're looking into that at least. A proper friends leaderboard is really important for the longevity of the game I feel.
Also I wanted to thank you for the work on the game so far. You and Stuart have done a smashing job with the PC port. There are some small issues left but overall...
It's pretty simple really. If we paid actual currency rates both steam and the developers would get less money out of european sales because of VAT. The fault here if any does not lie with valve or farsight. It's your governments. Disclaimer: This isn't an anti-taxation rant, I'm just saying...
