Is there a definitive whitelist of devices, or is it based on OS version + Memory (+CPU/GPU?)?
I can see where my 'phone might fall foul of the CPU check, since it's 3 years old. My tablet on the other hand is only a year old; Samsung only just introduced the S3 (and, it seems, they've...
I have the update on my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S2) that I was using throughout beta testing.
I don't have the most recent beta update on my 'phone (LG G3, 3Gb RAM), I guess it failed to auto-update when the most recent beta (that became the release candidate) hit. Mustang runs perfectly...
I assume that's because while the game knows you rolled it, since it can't display scores > 9,999,999, it awards that score to anyone who rolls the game for high score purposes. Just a limit of the ROM and display that's impossible to get around.
As for why TPA does this in the local high...
Yep I've only suggested this myself a couple or dozen times. Glad they're doing it, get the polish out.
Though I think they've got a lot to work on in SPA, too.
It's hidden at the bottom of the newsletter, so you might have missed it, but:
"Month Off
We will be taking one month off before the start of Season Seven to do some improvements to the game.
Make sure to vote on the first table of Season Seven before end-of-day Sunday March 26th! "
I may be wrong, but I think shutyertrap is acquainted with the owner of the prototype - a collector in California - and may even have played it. I'm sure it got mentioned in one of the podcasts.
Also... the recent article about Gene Cunningham (thread here) mentions he was thinking of going...
Would people rather have a series of incremental patches fixing one or two things at a time (effectively, beta-testing each update...), or one big patch fixing a load of stuff?
Clearly FS are taking the latter approach. They are working on things behind the scenes. The Android beta is...
That thread - particularly sellenoff's comments, since he is the guy who wrote all the emulation code for TPA - should be essential reading for anyone. Particularly the bits about why they didn't end up emulating DCS (and other sound systems) - I was already aware that they abandoned that effort...
I'm more inclined to think that FS are getting a "loaner" table from Arcade Expo in Banning, a partnership they've recently entered into (after all it's right at the foot of the mountain... albeit there's no direct road from Big Bear to Banning). They just need help deciding which one to do...
GTX750Ti is a great card if you can still pick one up.
Otherwise look for its successors, the 950Ti and the 1050Ti. Should be no problem finding a 1050Ti and that will do the job admirably.
If you don't Facebook, at least vote in the Unofficial Official poll on the forum! http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/12499-Unofficial-Official-Poll-Paragon-vs-Embryon
In case you missed it, Farsight posted an official poll on Facebook for fans to choose between Paragon or Embryon to kick off Season 7!
You may remember Paragon from such polls as the pre-1980 poll that was somehow won by Xenon, which counted only on a technicality.
You probably don't remember...
