Man, creating your own pin... Everything homemade that I've seen looks so bad, unless it was a re-theme. Re-themes seem much more do-able - if you can dis-assemble and re-assemble an entire table...
Ren and Stimpy is definitelya dream-table of mine, but that one seems like a very silly wish. I...
Evil Dead 2 would be my choice from the trilogy. The table could be the cabin, with the cellar in the middle that pops open... Laughing deer head and furniture when your ball drains, naturally!
I'm a huge T&E nerd but Billion Dollar was the only thing they've made I actually thought was kind of...
I played it at the Louisville Arcade Expo last Spring, albeit briefly as it kept breaking and there was always a line. It's a pretty cool table but I thought a lot of its appeal was being carried by the art and execution of the theme. Still, I really want to spend more time with it so this one...
I really enjoyed the season overall, although some tables did take time to grow on me. Still, Addams, Road Show and Jackbot are big winners for me and I've grown fond of Earthshaker, Cyclone and even Xenon. Safecracker still hasn't clicked, even though it's a really cool and unique game. I...
I think when I first saw the playfield art for Cyclone I immediately thought of Taxi, then I realized that Dracula is on all these pinball tables, even if they aren't horror-themed, like some kind of weird inside joke...
I agree with all of those ideas! Would love to see Zen strike a deal with Cartoon Network for a CN pack and an Adult Swim pack. Rick and Morty would be shoe-ins, as would Aqua Teens, but my dream AS table would be Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job. It would have to purposefully look terrible...
Why does it have to be so ugly? I thought KISS looked pretty great for a Stern and had dared to believe they were turning a corning with table art. Nope! Back to baaaad photoshop and terrible graphic design elements. I guess it's a good thing that Ritchie is the designer cuz i'm sure I'll enjoy...
Ohh, i dunno... I like X-Files. I think most serious players would recommend Checkpoint. But you said you wanted something easy. I think Mario is the way to go, these people aren't going to be critical of score balance or anything, they just want to keep the ball in play and have a good time.
Mario is ok, pretty cute and forgiving. Definitely a good beginner's table and the brand is a household name that still has relevance. I think Checkpoint is probably another good choice but I'm certain Mario is easier. Why didn't you like X-Files? I actually think that's the most-fun table you...
Man, I really don't like Jurassic Park. Table has terrible flow. Also seems like a very expensive license, especially with the success of Jurassic World. I did see that updated T-Rex mod at the Louisville Arcade Expo this year and it was pretty awesome :) Tales, R&B, Last Action Hero, WWF RR...
Street Fighter is Gottlieb... I think you want to talk to Zen Studios. Also, it has to have some of the worst art I've ever seen on a pin, heh.
I've played two Capcom tables - Pinball Magic and Breakshot. Both themes are repped in TPA but I think Breakshot is a cooler table. The whole concept...
It would be cool if that first post could get updated, although it does indicate that we should never give up hope.
Personally, I think almost every non-licensed System 11 game should make it into TPA. It's a wide breadth of themes and they're all pretty fun. We haven't seen a table theme like...
I'm confused... Can someone explain what the issue with Sorcerer is again? It's already in PHF Williams Collection, right? Is it because updating the table to current standards would be almost as cstly as a whole new table? I can't really see that. It's a pretty cool table and theme, I just ran...
My friend, I know exactly how right I am :( I live on the West side of Indianapolis where there's currently about 7 public tables spread across the entire city and only half of them work well and are worth playing. I have to drive at least an hour to get to a place with at least 4 tables...
The burdens of pinball table ownership go well beyond the initial cost. You have to move it, you have to maintain it. It's going to break a lot, it's going to need regular maintenance that requires a lot of knowledge and skill. Overtime new parts will be needed. You need room for it and you...
Agreed about WoZ. They need to add a zero. The scores feel really piddly. Matching a single digit also seems weird. I know it's just psychological but I see why the scores got so big as time went on. It just makes you feel good, even if 100 mil is actually pretty poor.
I hate games where it's...
Agreed! But the flip side of that is the predictable physics. Pinball loses some charm when you know exactly how the ball will behave coming out of a kickout or off a ramp. But when you don't have to worry about randomness you can focus on strategy. TPA is so awesome just for learning rules and...
Oh yeah, I just avoid Pinside. My very first post was replied to with a jerk comment about how the guy hates people who use silly handles. Everyone says it's drama, most popular gaming forums are toxic. TPA's forum is small but nice :)
Some ramps are so steep that if the flippers aren't...
I left a request on Zen's forum yesterday and Barbie's response was "thanks for the suggestion! *smiley*" i just don't understand why they don't bother. It can't be that hard, can it? TPA and Zaccaria are far less polished apps and they managed support, as did Pro Pinball and they only have one...
