I've got a Transformer TF300T Tegra 3 Android Tablet, with a 720p display. I've got nothing negative to say about the graphics at all, particularly now Farsight have enable anisotropic filtering for devices with OpenGL graphic chipsets.
I would say that the position of the "launch ball" button...
Hi Jake. You must be one of the new testers Ryan was talking about. Welcome to the forum, and thanks for starting the epic triage on issues not yet seen by FS. :D
Kia Ora, Bro.
Yep, I'm over the ditch in Brisbane, Australia.
A poor showing of real tables here. Used to be great when I was restoring them for Replay, but they have got rid of most of their's (and they are now Timezone). I think there might be some tables down in Timezone Surfers Paradise...
I was just about to ask the same question, but was a good boy and searched the forum first ;)
Any news about Tapatalk? I was just about to purchase it, but it would really only be for this forum and XDA.
The installation instructions seem to be quite comprehensive...
Great to hear the team has expanded. Welcome new testers, whoever you are!
If the testers can put a brief comment on each issue when they traige them, we know it has been logged, and we'll stop bleating about it ;)
I can totally understand!. The fact the Android team continues to look after us all so well each and every month makes me happy to throw my $5 squids at Google every month.
And I saw what you did there with regard to "farsight login (sans facebook)". ;) That will be a welcome feature, which I...
Bugs raised to date
These are the one's I've raised specifically, but have not yet received Farsight Employee ACK. There are other bugs in each forum raised by others that have still yet to be ACK'd by anyone, which suggests to me they have not been seen and logged.
General Game Issues
Music...
I've been raising bugs directly against individual tables. For those bugs that seem to be affecting multiple platforms, I log them with the [Bug] prefix and put them in the General thread. Do you lurk in other threads apart from Android?
As someone accustomed to reporting bugs (I do it...
This issue seems to affect the ball launch music mostly, because this music is usually a short loop.
Problem
When you start a game, and don't launch the ball immediately, you can hear a noticeable gap when the "launch ball" music finishes and restarts.
Reproducable
100%.
It affects all...
This issue seems to be most prevalent on FH and CV.
Problem
When you start a game on either of these tables, sometimes the main theme music continues to play over the emulated table music (an overlapping music event).
Reproducable
Generally after you press start very quickly after the table...
This is the same issue that afflicts Funhouse as well. To fix it you need to quit out and restart the table. Give the table about 10 seconds into the attract mode before you start the new game, and the problem goes away.
It's also a great feature to make balls that happen to travel over the bumper as it deploys to smash into the playfield glass and scare the living frack out of you. ;)
I think the "3 switches or the ball is not considered to be in play" rule is an interesting one. I think that might be unique to JackBot, because I tried this on CV and the theory didn't work. On CV, I hit a volt roll-over button only upon launch, and let the ball drain.
A good tip is to watch...
This behavior happens randomly on Android as well.
I think what is causing the problem is the "attract music" is actually not designed to play when the table is in stand-by mode. So Farsight must have ripped the music track out of the ROM and set it to play in a loop for the table main menu...
I haven't really experienced this behavior on Gorgar. Usually when I plunge the ball ends up going down the right roll-over lane before the pop bumpers. This puts the ball into the pop bumpers for a good jet-around. The drains usually happen in the out-lanes for me. Not down the middle.
I would...
Hmm, on my TF300T (android), I have not noticed a direct drain after simply plunging the ball.
To be clear, are you suggesting that when you pull back the plunger and release, the ball goes from the plunger lane directly to the outhole without travelling anywhere on the playfield at all?
You can tell there's something a little custom about Gorgar when you look at the ball and credit indicator at the bottom left of the screen. That is a telling sign that the game is not a true emulation.
But, whatever. I've never played the machine in real life. I don't have any physical...
And let's not even begin to discuss Johnny Mnemonic... ;) Because JM is a licensed table, it's fortunate we will never likely see this table that scores you in Gigabytes make it to TPA.
Yep, and this also happens on other games like CV and BoP. All you can hear are the mechanical SFX and the environmental effects like ball rolling noise. Until you hit a scoop that changes the music, or restarts the tune. It's almost like hitting a scoop resets the music and fixes the problem.
I didn't have to force quit when I purchased the DLC on the TF300T. TPA just force-closed on me, so after restarting the game the DLC was ready to rock.
