    Android 1.8.0 and Tournament: Bugs

I've seen it too. I saw it reported for the specific case where the Powerball ends up at the plunger after Lost In The Zone, but I think it's general: detection of the Powerball when it goes from the trough to the plunger does not work, or does not always work.

Pinball Arcade vs. Williams Pinball Hall of Fame ??

I will say, though the ball physics feels more realistic in TPA than in PHoF, on the other hand, TPA tables seem more infested with game-ending bugs. In PHoF on the Wii, I'd often get the "ball fell off table" message, but the game could deal with it in a way that didn't disrupt play too badly...

Pinball Arcade vs. Williams Pinball Hall of Fame ??

This could still be a TV setting problem, or an issue with the TV in general; since the Wii only has standard-definition analog video output, your two consoles are likely connected to the TV in completely different ways, so the lack of lag with the Wii is no indication of what the TV might be...

    Life After TZ

Heh! I've been trying to go out of my way to talk about some of the other stuff that happened in this release: Medieval Madness suddenly became far more enjoyable after a long period of neglect (which certainly motivated me to give its TPA rendition some attention), there were major improvements...

    Request The Addams Family (videos)

I recall enjoying the second movie, Addams Family Values, a lot more. The first one had a perfect cast and a great look (both of which carried over beautifully to the pinball), but the script was a little weak.

When it comes to XBox, we'll try to have those conversations again, but it'll just get us harshly punished by the apes who rule the earth.

    What are your most-wanted tables?

Space Invaders is great! The original table ran afoul of a rights issue with its ripoff of Alien, though (and Alien is still very much a live franchise), so I wonder if that would be a problem with the sim.

Request Farsight: Kickstarter for Cactus Canyon

Graphics and lighting ought to be all GPU stuff; the CPU would be handling physics and emulation. The original Wii did plenty well with the physics in Pinball Hall of Fame; it was an older, perhaps less accurate engine, but it was good enough for decent gameplay. It didn't have any emulated...

    Android 1.8.0 and Tournament: Bugs

I suppose it doesn't matter to the physical model, since the plunger seems able to plunge the ball by spooky action-at-a-distance no matter where it is in the plunger lane. (I assume this is intentional, to make it easier to plunge the ball even if it's falling back after a failed plunge. I...

She's Red, isn't she? And the song actually appears in Road Show, or so I have heard (I haven't been able to survive very long on that table).

    Nexus 4 - periodic slowdowns?

I get some of this which I think is just syncing of email and such. Some people have had success with turning off location-based services, which seem to suck a lot of CPU at inopportune times.

The Official Latest NEWS And INFORMATION Discussion Thread

The economics of downloaded apps, especially mobile apps, are tough these days: tables on TPA don't cost very much, and it's got to be bringing down revenues from people who are casual pinball fans and only really care about playing one or two tables. That's likely why Farsight is so keen on...

    TZ Tactics and Strategies

With nothing more than the realization that I ought to be shooting for left ramp->right ramp->Piano combos, I managed to get my high score up above 700 million (which, for me, is still very good). Lost In The Zone feels reachable. Thanks!

    Android 1.8.0: Feedback & Discussion

I've noticed that in discussions of pinball, there's always a language ambiguity coming from the fact that some people use the word "tilt" to mean nudging, and some people use it to mean tilt detection. So "disable tilt" can have two almost-opposite meanings!

BUG: LIZ high score not saved

The brute-force solution would be to take the virtualization one step further, and implement a nonvolatile save and restore on the entire pinball machine's RAM and CPU state. The ROM code would never know it had stopped executing, let alone been monkeyed with. I'm guessing this would open a can...

    Did anyone else think...

...The possibility that worried me was that Twilight Zone would be part of a two-pack, and that there would be some kind of mess associated with people who donated to the Kickstarter, got TZ for free, and were now being forced to buy it again in order to get the other table (on platforms where...

    Did anyone else think...

Once it became clear that there was only going to be one table in the Twilight Zone pack, I figured that would be it, if indeed they even got it out in November. Twilight Zone has to be a fairly involved table to implement, because of all its unusual features (Powerfield, Powerball, gumball...

Bug Powerball Not Detected If It's the Ball in the Plunger After LITZ

Right--I think some simulated sensor in the trough might not be catching the Powerball, or, that is, distinguishing it from a regular ball. (This isn't a game-ending bug; the ball is scored as if it were steel.) The real table fails to notice that you're using the Powerball on occasion, but...

Bug Powerball Not Detected If It's the Ball in the Plunger After LITZ

I haven't gotten LITZ, but I think I've also had a ball in which the Powerball simply came out of the trough to the plunger, and was not detected. (In reality, I'm pretty sure TZ can detect the Powerball in that situation at least some of the time.) The situation where the Powerball comes out...

    Android 1.8.0: Feedback & Discussion

There's definitely been a change to the physics: the ball used to nearly always bounce unrealistically high off a held flipper, with the risk of outlane drains, and it doesn't do that any more.
