Where Do You Play Real World Pinball Tables?

I finally made my way to Pinball Wizard Arcade in Pelham, New Hampshire, mentioned here many times previously: https://plus.google.com/u/0/100452847199780289157/posts/hYwMmaFppeW I am utterly floored by this place. 100+ pinballs covering the entire solid-state era, aggressively maintained...

    DLC Release Date

The big info post is now saying early October for #4, mid-October for #5, mid-November for #6. Presumably there will be a title update for 4-5 (which should include some bug fixes as well) and another one for 6. But it'd be interesting to know if they have to hack around size limitations again.

    What's up with Stern?

I've been assuming it has nothing to do with the contract but with what Farsight regards as being in demand. It's not just Stern. They did a bunch of Gottlieb tables (scripted) for PHoF: Gottlieb, and we've seen exactly one of these return (scripted) in TPA, with hints that two others will...

Modern Pinballs from 1991-2012 prefered pls

I group Funhouse mentally with the 1990s DMD tables just because it's a Pat Lawlor design and plays like one. You can recognize that the same mind that produced Addams Family and Twilight Zone was responsible for it. I revived my interest in pinball with the Wii version of Pinball Hall of Fame...

Monter Bash outlanes are a real monster of a *****!

The problem I always have is getting tempted by Frankenstein or Dracula and knocking it right into the center drain. They're dangerous, no doubt about it.

Silverball Studios LAUNCHES Pro Pinball : Revived & Remastered Kickstarter Campaign

This one always seemed like a long shot to me. Farsight was both asking for much less, and had more recognizable names to mention (even people who don't know pinball know The Twilight Zone and Star Trek: TNG). The community of people with fond memories of Pro Pinball is just too small.

    taxi bugs

...I think that last tends to happen when the lock is lit for Joyride, but Gorbie is lit rather than Santa. If you then make the Santa/Joyride shot, what you get is Gorbie.

Opinions on DLC pack #1 vs pack #2

The Amazing Roonie can go jump in a billabong.

    Shoot The Magic DRUNK

It's not as much fun, but on Black Knight I always heard "fight against three enemies" as "fight again, [what???] enemy", and I could never figure out what he was calling me.

    taxi bugs

I've gotten this one too. I didn't think you could get Gorbie by shooting that hole from below (as if you were picking up Santa), but that was based solely on my experience with Pinball Hall of Fame. Glad to see someone else noticed it.

What's so special about a SPECIAL?

There's also tournament mode, in which, I think, the machines generally don't give out either extra balls or free games.

Opinions on DLC pack #1 vs pack #2

While both packs have their charms, personally I'm more fond of Cirqus Voltaire/Funhouse. CV was extremely buggy in its earliest versions, but on 360 it's currently doing pretty well, and is by far the most visually spectacular table of the lot, with its interactive neon lighting. And TPA's...

What's so special about a SPECIAL?

Generally speaking, pinball machines have the award for a Special (and for the Replay value) as an operator setting. I think that on the emulated tables, all Farsight had to do to get them to award extra balls instead was to adjust that setting. While most real-life tables are set to award free...

    The "Igor" toy is horrible..

His voice in the pinball sounds more like Luis Avalos as the mad scientist's assistant on "The Electric Company" in the 1970s. (The mad scientist was, I believe, Morgan Freeman, who also played Dracula!)

    Older Solid State Tables

I've never played Centaur but I'm fascinated by its appearance. Fathom too.

    Played AC/DC today

I played the Pro version last weekend at Canobie Lake. I generally enjoyed it, but I didn't really know what I was doing and didn't get very far. A similar thing happened to me with the ball getting perfectly balanced on the end of the plunger lane divider right off the plunge. I had to shove...

    The Shadow

They're both aiming to evoke 1930s/40s Art Deco.

Jersey Jack - Wizard Of Oz News

I haven't seen this documentary yet, but I did just get the chance to play a Revenge from Mars in mostly-playable shape, hidden away at Canobie Lake (it wasn't at the main arcade, but at the skee-ball arcade by the chicken-finger stand in the Old Canobie section). It struck me as not a bad...

Is this table really that easy?

The "LIVE/RIDE on one ball" standard goal is actually somewhat challenging, in part because I think you have to avoid triggering Harley Multiball to get it.
