I found the version in the Gottlieb collection on Wii pretty boring, but somehow this is much more engaging. I don't know if it's because I can see the whole table using portrait mode on the iPad or because they've sexed it up a bit or what, but like Fungi I find of the two machines I'm playing...
Beat all the standard table goals today for Attack From Mars; super jets wasn't that hard. Tough goals are like Rudy Gulp Bonus on Funhouse or Harem Multiball in Arabian Nights because they're down to hitting specific shots at specific times. I actually did those two before, but only as guest...
Unless Farsight decides to create a newer version of the app that drops support for iphone 3GS and iPad 1 (maybe 2 as well) that's not going to change.
If you have an HD console you should be good to go there I believe.
My only bug is the long-standing periodic failure to note the "Nudge"...
Interesting that Genie is scripted because it's definitely different from the Gottlieb Collection - guess that's from having more time with a real live one?
Now that we're through the kickstarter releases and the revamped interface (seriously loving the portrait mode now; a full-on iTunes...
Although it's great they've been able to run this app across multiple hardware generations of iOS devices, I think we're starting to reach the point where splitting off an "HD" version designed for the retina devices and taking advantage of the greater horsepower to do things like No Good Gofers...
I thought El Dorado was another shoe-in myself due to the ranking. I think the real question is which version it will be (em or ss). Victory is pretty decent; other than that I'd really like Aces High as another EM to go with Big Shot. I think I liked Teed Off better than No Good Gofers, but I...
Great update. Love the portrait mode and Genie feels a lot better than the console release did. Attack from Mars is brilliant. Very pleased to see my kickstarter tables are still there. Hopefully the minor issues in Circus Voltaire, Black Hole and Scare Stiff can get addressed in the next update...
I don't have a problem with the colour tint myself. I also confirm the sound issue in iOS version 6.01 on my iPad 3rd gen.
One thing I think could be improved are the sound effects. The sound of the ball rolling on the table is so subtle I can barely hear it even with the music turned off...
It would be nice to see more non-licensed tables being made by Stern. Although one of my all-time favourites is based upon a licensed property, by-and-large I prefer the original tables I've played.
I'm sorry but you don't know what you're talking about. They fix iOS bugs ALL THE TIME; there have even been mid-month releases for them.
I agree the placement of an on-screen button would be nice (the TNG button placement isn't a simple matter as many assume, but try camera angle 2 to deal...
The playfield feels a bit close to me and the pinball movement on the table doesn't seem natural, like they're using a load of magnets to influence ball trajectory.
It's decent and I cannot complain because there's little choice available to me when it comes to real pinball. I certainly would...
Speaking as a purchaser of every table (bar the two I got as kickstarter rewards) on iOS, it's pretty clear that iOS users matter to Farsight a lot since iOS usually gets new tables before everyone else and often a second update to fix bugs which are egregious.
Regarding your issue, this isn't...
Heh, I suppose. It's one of the better machines at the HMV in Glasgow city centre. They're all a bit "meh" though: X-Files has one of the most boring playfields ever, ditto for Transformers. Then there's Lord of the Rings, Dark Knight and South Park. I haven't played the latter because I'm not a...
Welcome Sumez. I also used to regard the game as too random and certainly my early exposure as a child wasn't too good when I could barely press both flipper buttons, much less see the playfield without standing on a chair! I hit my teens during the mid 80s and was better able to appreciate...
I really liked that Johnny Mnemonic table so I'll second that; Judge Dredd is a fun mission-based table and as a fan of the comic I'd be pleased to see it in the arcade too. Lord of the Rings is okay - certainly better than the Harley Davisdson machine. Otherwise I think the WMS Indiana Jone...
That was one of a couple of programs I actually paid money for on my Atari 800XL. Too complicated for me, but the promise was too tantalising to pass up at the time!
Could be a lack of sound effects that create that feeling. In the pinball arcade I can hear the ball rolling and hitting the flippers and surfaces with a more definite impact. Overall I prefer simulating a real table to the "video pinball" stuff with animated playfield stuff happening in Zen.
