The Olive Garden Analogy - my last post

Hence my response to this post and the previous one by this poster to be constructive and have perspective. It's probably just because I'm a bit older and was married for a long time, but one of the things I've learned over the years (and tried to practice) is to choose your battles and if you...

    New tables...

Genie is an early solid state machine as is El Dorado which is another wide-body Gottlieb table I expect to see (and which I also hope will be improved over the console version).

    New tables...

Yes please do Sorcerer. I know it wasn't as big a name compared to the others, but I really enjoyed that table in the Williams Collection.

The Olive Garden Analogy - my last post

Yeah and he had a similar rant last week. When you have so few posts and the last two are back-to-back unproductive rants, well, it's just not that endearing. I have to say that when I go Stateside to visit relatives I actively avoid The Olive Garden. Glasgow has per-capita the most Italian...

    New video from FarSight

Zen does have the jump on them. They're busy busy people though!

    TPA Wii U version info?

And technically they're still in the launch window which is until March...just saying!

    New video from FarSight

There is a Classic Controller Pro on the unit to the right of the screen, so potentially yes. The only reason I check the DMD is during a "video mode" moment, so I'm very happy to have it off the screen, but I guess I can see why others would miss it (well, not really).

    New tables...

I'm sure next year we'll get the most worthwhile tables from previous collections and Pin-Bot should certainly be among them. By the end of 2013 I'm going to be feeling positively spoiled for choice when it comes to pinball!

    TPA Wii U version info?

Thursday is new download release-day in North America and Europe. If you don't already read it I recommend Nintendo Life to keep on top if this stuff as they list what's coming in advance and they review all downloads on the Nintendo platforms. Great site with a well-moderated forum and I'm not...

Vote for a classic Bally table! (Closed)

Well two sounds like too short a "short list" to me, so hopefully there will be a third!

Request Get rid of the trigger icon unless it's needed

Yeah, something does need to be done about it for sure. Hopefully they can come up with a solution that will annoy the least number of people. In the meantime I'm going to try different camera angles to see if there's one I like that doesn't completely obscure the outlane. @Fungi: I also find...

The Official Latest NEWS And INFORMATION Discussion Thread

No and the screens I've seen of Genie are pretty impressive, so I'm hopeful the play will be more exciting than in the Gottlieb collection on the Wii.

    Cyclone

Every time this table gets mentioned I have to add my support. In fact I couldn't remember the name of it and thought Funhouse was the same machine. Although I enjoy that table I will confess to being disappointed it wasn't Cyclone when I fired up the Williams Collection for the first time...

The Olive Garden Analogy - my last post

Pretty much my reaction to every over the top post on this forum about how a particular machine has been "butchered" or how "pinball isn't just a game to me" or whatever. I have issues with the pinball arcade, but at worst they're annoying. Nothing which is wrong with the Pinball Arcade...

Vote for a classic Bally table! (Closed)

So exciting! Either one will be a good lead-in for these classic Bally solid state machines. I have to say that as much as Williams is far-and-away my favourite pinball company, tables like Eight Ball Deluxe and Centaur look like what I think of when I think of pinball generally: a cluster of...

    New tables...

I found Genie a bit underwhelming on the Wii, but I did give it a play now and then. I have to say that those screens look amazing - it's like night and day compared to the original console release of that table, so I'm looking forward to it. My only time with Attack From Mars was waiting for a...

    TPA Wii U version info?

Haha, well that would be a nice treat. The good thing is that releases at Nintendo are weekly so we have four opportunities to be surprised this month. I'm hoping we'll have access to the full slate of tables out the gate, but that might not be the case depending on what they were able to,get...

What 2 tables would you be most excited to see FS announce to start off 2013?

Interesting combo. I was hoping for Firepower or Space Shuttle, but I can wait. Genie was not among my faves on the Gottlieb Collection on Wii, however I expect given the new engine it should be a different experience from the PAL port of a PS2/GameCube game, so I'll get the pack regardless.

Request Get rid of the trigger icon unless it's needed

I think putting it where the buttons are in Black Knight would work, but practically speaking wouldn't using a different camera angle make it less intrusive?

    The Pinballs of Wrath [Rant-ish]

Glad to see I'm not alone in finding the self-righteous vitriol I see increasingly on this forum utterly baffling and tiresome. It's not dissimilar to a road rage incident or email war which starts because of an imagined slight that isn't real. The number of assumptions about how software...
